If you like all kinds of tips overall, just google them bro, go to official Grim Dawn website or forums, there is even official guide whihc is detailed, not to meantinue there are tips poping up while you play the game.
It may be ultra confusing and hard at start, but once u get used to it, it's easy.
> one more thing... this game doesn't really aim at pvp much whihc is good honestly and in multiplayer lobbies it's super fun sometimes and other guys help you out too. Also don't get too greedy to others and expect them to give you stuff back, ya know. It's more like once I keep dropping purples, everyone else starts doing the same. xD
In real life if a person does your job for you, do you get the same experience and knownledge as if u did it yourself. Obviously answer is a no in any scenario because if you try to do things yourself you udnerstand them more therwfore if I start recommending you gear parts, you either:
1. Won't have them;
2. Too high lvl required;
3. Not your type.
If I start recommending you skills and devotions, it's absoloutly each on their own playstyle aswell. This game is not Path of Exile, DIablo 3, League of Legends or WOrld of Warcraft.
This game wants you to do your ♥♥♥♥ yourself and you will get better and better at it, but if you don't and just go with someone elses ideas and builds, how do you even get smarter at it is the question.
I would suggest you to start off with Primal Strike. Get its modifier (Thunderous Strike) and Torrent as soon as you can, then maximize Primal Strike, and follow up with max Torrent and Storm Surge.
You can later on remove Primal Strike for Savagery, or use both of them (Savagery for buffs, Primal Strike for damage). Savagery generally is the best choice for single target damage in the end game though.
Brutal Force is another skill you totally want to max, but avoid Feral Hunger and Upheaval as long as you use Primal Strike.
Mogdrogen's Pact, Heart of the Wild and Oak Skin are also mandatory picks, although invest in them only as much as you need (Heart of the Wild is the only exception, I suggest you to get it up to 10 max for the most benefits).
Then you have to choose between physical and lightning damage. Lightning is the obvious choice, especially for ranged weapons, though. Stormcaller's Pact is an amazing dmg buff and goes with lightning, while Primal Bond has the much useful damage absorb and goes best paired with physical.
Early on there are some good items you can find.
The Wildcaller set comes in both level 30 and level 65 versions, decent set, but the weapon is melee. No worries though, you can replace that (if you're lucky, still) with an Ulda'Jax (and later on, Thunderclap). Also, it shouldn't be hard for you to get your hands on a Raka'Jax once you hit 75, as it can be crafted, so you can trade for one easily. It's worth mentioning that Swamp Golems in the Ashes of Malmouth expansion (Gloomwald/Ugdenbog areas) can also drop some pretty good rare Primal Strike lightning rifles. If RNGesus assists you, you can get a weapon comparable to a Raka'Jax.
The end game set you most likely will want is the Ultos one.
When it comes to devotions, the only mandatory one is the Kraken (great boost for all 2handers). Then, depending on your damage type, you'll want Assassin's Mark and perhaps Oleron or Empyrion (if physical), or Rhowan's Crown and Ultos (if lightning).
If you're planning to stick with rifles for your own personal tastes, I would suggest you Inquisitor as second mastery. It complements a lightning ranged shaman quite well, and provides interesting WPS to use combined with Savagery, as well as the Storm Box for debuffs, Inquisitor Seal and Word of Renewal for buffs/defense, and Aura of Censure (doesn't stack with Stormcaller's Pact, but AoC is the best pick in my opinion).
Sound advice...
With regard to Inquisitor, there 's also Deadly Aim. The usual procedure is buffing your OA with some savagery hits and tenacity of the boar, then deadly aim triggers and your OA skyrockets in regions that makes a nightblade green with envy.
However with Aura of censure, bear in mind, that it has a 7m range at 12/12 (and it doesnt get much better). 7m is less than it sounds. It's godly for melee, for ranged, I dunno.
That's true, but consider that most bosses will catch up with you and get to melee range. And that's when AoC truly shines.
And anyway, Primal Strike will destroy all trashes, no matter what exclusive aura you have.
Melee will actually make your life much easier with weapons. For the extremely unlucky and poor people, there's a green lightning sword that drops at Lower Crossing https://www.grimtools.com/map/markers/chests/3906
The Black Legion also sells a fairly good lightning 2hander, but you'll need some rep that you most likely wont get if it's your first playthrough. There are also several good lightning epic 2handers for all levels, so good luck to you.
For the endgame, you'll most certainly want an Ultos Stormseeker though. Until you get it, you can trade for a Stormreaver though - it's craftable, so much easier to obtain.
Even if you're out of mana it'll do a standard attack.
