Into the Jaws of Madness bug
Found Ulgrim, used his name (which the wiki says is supposed to finish the quest), ran out of dialogue options except for beating sense into him or leaving him. Tried beating some sense into him and he becomes some unbeatable enemy (he keeps full healing himself).

What's the bug?

For references, he's considered a strong optional boss.
You can convince him to Not fight you and talk some sense into him.

The only options I had after everything else was done was to fight him or leave him. The quest needs him to progress and when I fought him he kept fullhealing himself.
you need to select the right route of dialogue options to get him to come to his senses

So if you exit the area completely and then go back in, he'll be back in dialogue mode?

EDIT: Read it somewhere online, just confirming before next coop session so we don't get brick walled again.

honestly i don't know about that, i've never tried to "back out" once i wanted to fight him
and i mainly mostly only pick the non-aggresion/"come to your senses" dialogue most of the times
if you can't get him to become peaceful/open up dialogue again, think i can only suggest you try to beat him on normal, in a high dps/build you try to round off for that 1 fight for the time being so you can clear him
(hope he opens the dialogue again)

Yes, Ulgrim will return to his delirious state if you leave the area long enough.

You either have to talk him through his madness or beat some sense into him. There are achievements for both options!

i'm bits away from reaching Ulgrim myself, so i can't say exactly what the correct line of dialgogue is atm (it just makes since when i sit there/reach it). and i did check to see if the quest wiki online had dialogue details but it didn't
off memory it's something along like, "ulgrim calls you empeor," -say i'm not the emperor,(or something similar), then remind him you're his friend,(or something), then talk about leaving the void to malmouth
it's a bit iffy when i don't sit there read it exactly, but that's sorta the gist. "be gentle" +friendly, don't yell, don't shake him to "snap out of it" etc. it should make sense from a reading perspective when you see the different options

edit ahaha,. Zantai himself came in before me/this reply, so it seemms he does get peaceful again when he says so

Thanks. It stopped our coop session last night, hopefully we get through next time we play.
okay just for reference, incase you don't find the right dialogue next time, this is the one i always pick (just reached Ulgrim yet again to see)
"what happened here" --> "i'm not the emperor" --> "i'm your friend", those are the 3 responses i always pick that leads to non-hostile, and then "we'll take the void to malmouth" to move on the quest
no idea if those are the only one, guessing can probably take more than 1 route to peaceful result, but it's the respnse path i always default to, bar the rare times when i want a good whoopin' :tgrin:

We got past it and are almost done the AoM DLC now. Thanks for the help!

Finished AoM. Overall liked it. A lot of enemies seemed to ignore my taunt though (something that occurs occasionally in the base game as well). Could have done without so much fighting in houses at the end though. 8.5/10
