For references, he's considered a strong optional boss.
You can convince him to Not fight you and talk some sense into him.
The only options I had after everything else was done was to fight him or leave him. The quest needs him to progress and when I fought him he kept fullhealing himself.
EDIT: Read it somewhere online, just confirming before next coop session so we don't get brick walled again.
and i mainly mostly only pick the non-aggresion/"come to your senses" dialogue most of the times
if you can't get him to become peaceful/open up dialogue again, think i can only suggest you try to beat him on normal, in a high dps/build you try to round off for that 1 fight for the time being so you can clear him
(hope he opens the dialogue again)
You either have to talk him through his madness or beat some sense into him. There are achievements for both options!
off memory it's something along like, "ulgrim calls you empeor," -say i'm not the emperor,(or something similar), then remind him you're his friend,(or something), then talk about leaving the void to malmouth
it's a bit iffy when i don't sit there read it exactly, but that's sorta the gist. "be gentle" +friendly, don't yell, don't shake him to "snap out of it" etc. it should make sense from a reading perspective when you see the different options
edit ahaha,. Zantai himself came in before me/this reply, so it seemms he does get peaceful again when he says so
"what happened here" --> "i'm not the emperor" --> "i'm your friend", those are the 3 responses i always pick that leads to non-hostile, and then "we'll take the void to malmouth" to move on the quest
no idea if those are the only one, guessing can probably take more than 1 route to peaceful result, but it's the respnse path i always default to, bar the rare times when i want a good whoopin'
