this guy seems to make a lot of good viable builds since he plays mostly hardcore

DW melee pierce Infiltrator or Blademaster <-- peak entertainment for me, specially with some choice farmed greens (grab 2x dermapteran slicers any time you can)
2h Forcewave Warlord
Sword 'n Shield fire Shieldbreaker (also works fine with Cadence Warlord, tho fire Shieldbreaker was more fun imo)
2hand "anything" Primal Strike/Savagery+Primal Strike -Shaman main class, fill in "whatever" you feel supports it well as it's Primal Strike(maybe+ Savagery) we want, Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist,, even Inquisitor works with a 2h melee "stryker"
2hand Blade Arc plaguespreader Witchblade, slow leveling as bleed build, but damn was it fun to mix melee Blade Arc with caster Bloody Pox -besides a little slow it could be highly squishy for me at times weirdly enough(needed better gear i suppose than just rushing through campaign)
DW acid Witch Hunter. squishy as hell (suppose depends on gear while leveling) but man do i just enjoy those dual-wield Nightblade mastery combos
DW acid Dervish (noticing a trend? lol)
as a final mention, which is not really traditional "Bruiser" but ended up surprisingly entertaining in lvling, was an Acid retaliation Sentinel, using Acid Righteous Fervor and acid Aegis of Menhir to supplement retaliation dmg. Normally a bit boring leveling as retaliation, but because i had Vilescorn and Perdition blue sets it was both decently speedy, very powerful and then fun
probably some more i'm forgetting... so much damn variation, almost too many to keep track of lol
