Shattered Realm Best On Easier Difficulties First?
First of all, I'll admit I hate the Shattered Realm game mode. So boring with no loot.

Second, I am trying to get the achievements for reaching higher levels of shattered realm and would like to get the special armor set too.

I was wondering if it is possible to clear shattered realm quickly on an easier difficulty and then use the waystones you get to start later in ultimate difficulty? Any other tips? Furthest I got was 6 but I've only tried on ultimate and this game mode is so boring I can't see myself going much further without a boost.

Thanks!

I don't do alot of SR but my understanding is that this is possible.

no loot?? o.0, it has like the most loot in the game :cwat:

oh, oohhh... well that makes sense
you're kinda in "luck", yes normal shattered realm is easier and gives you what you want (for now, Zantai might be swinging his mighty nerf hammer on Shattered Realm normal loot soon in patch 1.1.6)
not to discourage you, but you're in for a bit of a grind if you think reaching shard 6 is hard/long/boring and you wish/"need" to reach shard 25 for the achievement and the skill points on Ultimate. Might even sound like your build potentially can't handle it (on ultimate), but normal is way easier tho so go give it a whirl
just remember to cash out and get the recipes for the different levels
Shattered Waystone - Opens the 5th, 10th or 15th Shard
Resonating Waystone - Opens the 20th, 25th or 30th Shard
Haunted Waystone - Opens the 35th, 40th or 45th Shard
Desecrated Waystone - Opens the 50th, 55th or 60th Shard
Celestial Waystone - Opens the 65th, 70th or 75th Shard
(you need to reach the various 5th level increments yourself in shattered realm if you wish to use a waystone beyond its first lvl entry)

It's more than a "might". It's happening ;)

is much more an exploit than the diying penalty. granted the reward isn’t exactly the same in Normal and Ulti, but you’ll most likely run the shards not only safer but also faster, so the difference may not be so big in the end.

That is indeed a problem, and one we'll be addressing by shifting the ratio of Epic to Legendary drops on Normal difficulty Shattered Realm in favor of Epics.

tbh, it's kinda a little deserved, i was surprised how much loot and easily rewarding normal SR was when i found out. Especially considering death cycling is allowed in SR, with no penalty, unlike crucible where it's insta fail

Probably an oversight more than anything else. Then you get people starting to brag how it's more efficient to take their OP builds and farm Normal SR instead and that's pretty much all it takes to make Z say, "Alright then. We'll see about that".
i did have fun "gearing toons themselves" at lvl 60 with SR legendaries loot'splosions while it lasted tho :claugh:
but yea, compared to the difficulty change between normal and ultimate, and then "only" getting like half legendaries (regardless of char lvl even), definitely meant it was a way easier and more efficient method than it probably had any right to, even for "new" players gearing up fresh lvl 90s right out of their bloomers
-and it could kinda take away the incentive to do roguelikes, unless for MIs/fun, for early gearing up because even lower shards would outshine Ultimate roguelike rewards, while SR you could also death cycle/not care about dying/skeleton keys risks etc...

well that's just silly, you'd think they'd know by now Zantai has "a solution" for things.
You'll notice, that your character will have a way to specific amount of progression.

Higher shards can feel tough and someone just tossed into it, who haven't seen what damageoutput might fall on them, might be a bit like the people in HunterxHunter that encounter Nen by getting attacked through it.
It's rough, a wellgeared character can go there or try to on 94 ,
I know my Spellbinder collectec more then 100 deaths a day and already sat more then an Hour on a Shard 75 to clear the bosses.
The respawnmechanic is what makes it possible for me.
Some on 100 might go there and the mutators , the characterdesign they've reached and the Enemies strength might catch them unaware or overpower them.
It's sometimes also the first Kaisan of the day that feels the worst....
And recently I felt the need to explain, that with that Character that Close to "Reaper of the Lost" , that it will always find it and be aware of it, if it dares entering the Chunk 4, so even entering a chunk 4 with a character ungeared enough lets some bosses reaggro, you might loose your stable damage to health conversion, and then it runs at you again and thanks to its kill with fullhealth.....

I think they mean that loot doesn't drop while you kill things, and to be honest its why I find the game mode crushingly dull as well. I actually didn't think it would be a problem but in reality playing it turns out if you remove an integral part of the gameplay loop that makes Diablo clones fun (the loot pinata explosion from mobs) then it changes the dynamic of how people enjoy it.

Thats not to say I hate it or anything just that for me playing SR feels like work after about 10 mins where as I can run key dungeon for hours without feeling that same fatigue.
When you know that nothing drops from monsters and at the end there will be lots of chests, from which you are certain to get some legendaries, you lose out the element of suprise. That element of suprise is what gives you dopamine shot, when a legendary drops in key dungeon. If you know that you will get some legendaries, getting 3 or 6 legendaries after SR run, doesn't make a difference. And that, in my opinion, makes SRs boring for some people.

This idea of unovercomeable area is nowhere else in the game and that makes the shattered realm another different place.

As Geralt points out, its just different. Im not saying its bad or wrong or anything like that, hell GD is like my favourite game of all time at this point based on hours played. Just for me I don't enjoy those sort of horde style modes where its just constant combat till the end when you get a big reward. For me it just isn't as enjoyable, as watching a steady stream of (even if it less impressive overall) of loot drop while killing things.

Ive tried to love it (SR) but I just don't
