Dummy kill times
What's considered as a good training dummy kill time? Obviously its not an accurate measure of a build's strenght but it should at least be a good gauge of single target DPS. I'm curious as to what can be considered as a good kill time. :D

Since it doesn't do damage back to you, I woudn't consider it good trade with knownledge there either. DMG, attack speed ect. only comes to play there while defense systems inside you aren't even touched.

But to answer your question, I would say... 1 minute?

Agree with poster above.

Can your build finish the game without dying on every corner? Check
Can your build finish all rogue-like dungeon on 1 try? Check
Can your build defeat all Nemesis bosses? Check
Can you finish Galdiator crucible up to 170? Check
Can you defeat Madqueen? Check
Can you defeat Lokarr? Check
Can you defeat Mogdrogen Avatar? Check
Can you defeat Ravager? Check

All these say something about the build performance.. can than just ask about times)

Killing dummy.. absolutely nothing.

Well, I also agree with Flaming x21.As I said in my post, I know that its not a good measure of a builds overall strength. I was just interested as to what can be considered as a good dummy kill time as its a good measure of a build's single target dps.

A "finished" build (all needed legendaries, maybe even a "good enough" MI or two if called for) at level 100 in Ultimate (max dummy stats) can have dummy kill times under 20 seconds if it has good single-target dps.

It's possible to kill the dummy? No matter how much DPS a build has, once the dummy hit like 5-10% HP it immediately resets (for me) to full health for a while before its HP can be damaged again.

I think they actually get replaced by a new dummy (like Loghorrean at 2/3 and 1/3 hp... but full health) when they "reset" so... yes? No? Maybe?

Game used to be able to blow up the dummy. A patch many moons ago added tons of HP regen and a shield (Maivens) that supposedly makes them impervious once a certain thresh hold is reached.

Does that mean its impossible? Nope, just means its a hell of a lot harder now than it used to be. Under 30 secs is good.

Thanks! I figured under 30 secs would be good without too much compromising defense.

Damn. Under 20 secs would be a whole hell of a lot of dps.

I get the dummy down to the reset point in about 15-16 seconds on my Dagallon Purifier.

Nice! How does it fair in game? Best I could do so far is around 24-27 secs on my acid Witch Hunter and my belgo BM

Does pretty well. Dagallon pistols have 'hidden' 100% chance to pierce through enemies. Fire Strike line pretty much goes off on every single mob it passes through. Good area coverage but not really any single target. With Purifier you have all 3 of the WPS going off AND have devotions linked to each WPS.

Cool. I didn't know about the 100% chance to pierce on dagallon. I'd imagine that would melt mobs.:D

Dual pistols are the way to level up any character imo. Tried it on Soldier/X builds and it literally allows me to coast from 20ish to 80 - without using components on everything and without using any augments. Right now I'm doing it on a DeathKnight (soldier/necro), and I'm throwing level up points into anything after maxing Cadence and the necro added aether skill (forget the name).

Wanted to try other auto-attack replacers, and tried Fire Strike (Demo), but Cadence's 100% pierce (from second skill) is what makes it great, because mobs rush you and with pierce you literally kill everything in seconds.

I'll have to look into those Dagallon pistols though... if it has 100% pierce AND fire strikes goodness.... it must be far better than Cadence.

What I meant about Fire Strike is the Brimstone passive procs off every single mob your shots pass through. Firing into a good-sized group of mobs causes pretty much everything to go off. http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61616 the creator was kind enough to provide a Purifier version.
