Blackwater Cocktail weak?
The build I'm using uses the Blackwater Cocktail instead of Grenado, but I just don't see why. The cocktail has such a low damage rate it seems useless to me. I'm a new player - am i missing something?

Take the high potency mutator and put more points in the skill. 1 point in cocktail is useless but many points later it's quite strong.

If you want this type of attack, grab the one (bomb/grenado/coctail) where you will have bonuses from gear (if any) and stay with that.

No need follow any guides.

I think it is useless because at skill lvl 6 it does 70 dmg over 3 sec compared to Grenado's 1000 instant damage

Unless I'm missing something. It just seems weird anyone would pick it.

It also reduces targets Offensive Ability, Resistances and Physical Damage (with High Potency).

The problem is you're a new player following a build that has end game gear that heavily buffs the effectiveness of Blackwater cocktail. Naturally yours is weaker. You're also judging a skill at level 6...Just play however you want and you'll be happier. Follow a build later if you feel like it.

for "instant power"/early level up, grenado is indeed superior, even with its slow a*s cooldown and animation. That's because in the beginning monsters are weak, so early high dmg skills will obliterate them, this is why there are some skills among the different classes that are super effecient to rush, or 1 point, or focus on early on
but, later, their effect will diminish rapidly as monsters get more and more hp and resistances, especially if you don't have gear synergy to boost it.
BWC becomes pretty powerful, even if always "point for point"weaker, but 2 of the good things about it is, no cd, and, you can blanket an area with it, which amounts to continous dmg. This is for instance handy for kiting/"not being in constant close bombat", and the ticks BWC does will, with points and gear, ramp up pretty significantly making for some massive aoe field dmg and DoT
later on grenado "sucks" because, while it does high dmg, it's slow as feck, which can in a given situation be the difference between life and death (and because it can detonate on an unintended target that runs in the way) -that's not to say that you can't use it later on, just the some of its drawbacks, which can be sorta neglible early game, gets a bit more noticeable

Thanks man, that's a good explanation!
