About [damage with %increased duration]
Hi!

I have a question about dot behaviour.

There are serveral sources of duration increases, like devotion, gear and also skills.

Does EACH source adds up to a single multiplier?

For example:

- xx damage with 50% increased duration (from devotion)
- ANOTHER xx damage with 50% increased duration (from devotion)
- xx damage with 150% increased duration (from weapon)
- % damage with 100% increased duration (from item)

Do all sources, regardless where they are and come from build a "global multiplier" ?

In this case 350% for everything? So all type-related dots last 4,5x longer?

Can anyone confirm this?

Yes. You can see it on the 2nd page/tab of the character sheet. Just note that the number shown doesn't include damage or duration from Cunning or Spirit. (Don't ask me why.)

If you're thinking that sounds OP as hell it isn't. DoTs don't stack with DoT from the same "source" of DoT - only the highest DPS actually deals damage. If you crit something with a 3 second DoT spell then a moment later make a regular hit with the same spell you'll only apply damage from the critical hit until that first DoT's duration runs out, at which point you then start dealing non-crit damage until the second DoT's duration ends.

poison, electrocute, burn, frost burn & vitality decay and more.
if the description say: +50% frostburn damage with +50% increase duration it mean it increase the damage and the duration.

example you have a skill that cause frostburn 10, with duration 2 second with the effect of it you can have 15 frost burn damage and 3 second duration, not the skill duration but the effect of poison, electrocute, burn, frost burn & vitality decay on that skill. there also a skill modifier that allow the skill to extend it duration.

there also a dot damage like fire or chaos that deal damage per second, which can't be reducing the duration you take with "% reduction in burn duration" but you can minimalize the damage with resistance.

thanks to both of you.

So, that means each source counts for everything, not jsut for the note where it stands on.

All sources....no matter where, will build a global multiplier.

Weapon attacks, skills, flat weapon values, devotion, everything claes up?

When i have 100%:

- a 5s proc becomes a 10s proc
- a 5s flat dot value becomes a 10s flat dot value
- a 3s skill duration becomes a 6s skill duration?

no matter what where i get that duration bonus from?

For me it sounds awesome, the mechanic itself.... i dont care about the limitation of each source, it would be funny enough for me.

Right?!

yes, if the burn, vitality decay, trouma, bleeding, frostburn, poison or electrocute.
- a 5s flat dot value becomes a 10s flat dot value
yes, if the burn, vitality decay, trouma, bleeding, frostburn, poison or electrocute.
- a 3s skill duration becomes a 6s skill duration?
no unless there was increase duration with the name of skill in effect or the skill, example "bloody pox" "black death" increase the duration of bloody pox skill, but it also increase the bleeding damage and duration, which increase the bleeding duration not the bloody pox duration.

lets say, blade arc has 27bleed over 3 seconds and i have 100% duration increase... will THIS duration increase aswell?

I read and heard of that dps remains the same, so, 9 dps

Will blade arcs dot do 54 bleed over 6 seconds then?

EDIT:

I don't mean "skill MODIFIER". I mean simply all those basic "xx damage with xx% increased duration".
