Tips on getting resistances up?
I'm currently playing as Inquisitor - arcanist. Dual wield pistols, couple ground traps and the storm box of (can't remember the name).

I've tried to look into enchants, crafting but i can't seem to find much of gear that makes my resistances better. Any tips where i shuold look/things that are good to know? Veteran is easy at the moment, but i'm mainly worried about the harder difficulties.

What level are you?
Have you looked up the Devotions yet?
What area are you going through?

Veteran is pretty breeze until the expansion and by then, it's likely you're level 50 and you've found plenty of gear to mess around with.

Most of my resistance tweaking comes from Components, those are extremely important if you're lacking resistances. For example, one Component goes into every armor slot and gives +20 % Poison resistance.

If you haven't found any gear, haven't figured out good Devotions and you've used up all your components, I would recommend farming in Veteran. Either bounties for reputation (Augments are another good source of resistances, those can be bought from reputation vendors) or just gearing up, killing whatever you want to.

All in all, if you can handle the expansion in Veteran, you can easily progress in Elite-difficulty. And your gear is changing a lot below level 60 or so, so don't stress too much about it.

from my experience, i collecting epic armor lv 50 with each diffrent resistance(mostly contain elemental resist) it gonna cover somehow. If it not, you can make component in blacksmith or doing some quest to gain reputiation from each factions for thier powder. but for Ashes of Malmouth, you need build up your HP, reistance agains poison, vitality, aether. even some of veteran player would not dare travel there before they build up resistance.

I've just started this character, i'm on lvl 18, and killed the cultist boss who was on lvl 23. My build relies on ranged damage and dodging/moving around a lot, it was a narrow space.
I could take about 2-3 hits from him before dying. I managed to survive on the first try though, but it was too close. My devotions mainly go into damage. I didn't look through all of them, but any suggestions for a good one for resistance?

i'm playing on veteran yes. My last character was a melee soldier ages ago, he's about level 40. But i decided to start a new character. I'm not worried about veteran yet, my concerns lie in the future :D
I'd like to know shuold i concentrate on building a proper foundation from the beginning?

at beginning i just focused to HP and properly building resistance so yes, when enemy got tougher i rely on constellation power such giving me auto shield or healing when my health is low, or to send devastating power to wipe out enemy instanly. there many way to deal with your weakness.

I checked that sailor's guide constellation has 15% lightning and cold resistance. Are there straight away 15% or do they just increase my current resistances for 15%?

And jsut to be clear, if i put a point in that, i "get to keep them?" My resistances on those would always be at least 15%?

if it about constellation thing you need to watch, Devotion point, Affinity point, Function of it, and your final target of constellation Affinity point needed. even with 15 devotion point from half of game normal difficulty can be very effective if you spend it wisely.

My opinion when i choosing constellation: "yes i need this for my character, and Affinity point fair enough, and left some high devotion point to spend to reach Tier 3 constellation"

I think he meant something else.
Yeah you will always keep the 15% when you put a point in such a devotion perk.
