Larria bug?

I never had troubles to kill her on Ultimate and my character had 0 death so far until now...I tried to facetank her (as usual with my Death Knight) and she one shotted me 3-4 times in a row. I knew something is wrong this time (never happaned to me before) and I restarted the game and the issue was gone and I was able to facetank her without troubles. Is this a bug or she use different (random) skills every time the game is restarted? I am happy that I don't play on Hardcore mode. My resistances are maxed (not overcapped thought) but still should be enough because when I restarted the game I facetanked her without problems. I killed her many times so far and this is the first time when I encounter such an issue with her.

Nope, she has a shotgun skill where she fires out magic missles all around her, meaning if you don't back off when the casting animation starts for it, you're going to get hurt. Combine it with a lucky critical hit on one or more missle or low resistances on the payers part, and being one shot killed is very likely.

Thanks for the reply but it seems that she don't fire these missles every time because the previous few times I killed her without kitting?

Feels like a sudden difficulty spike...

No she always has that spell at her disposal but it's on an eight second cooldown and if you have a source of stun (I'm guessing you have Spear of the Heavens proc which has a one second stun) or skill disruption, however small, you might actually have gotten lucky and cancelled her animation which would put the spell on cooldown

Also, her nova attack is basically her version of the Arcanist's Panetti's Replicating Missiles, which fires 18 projectiles, deals a decent chunk of Elemental damage (1,327 damage each) and they reduce your Elemental Resistance by 30 for 3 seconds. So if your Ele res is not overcapped (let's say it's 80% exactly) she will reduce it to 50% and being a melee class, there's a good chance you got hit by multiple projectiles with reduced Ele res, hence the 1 shots.

She's Human type though. Dont all Human type enemies have range of gear to roll exept for few (usually droppable) fixed gear bits? Was such thing with Gonzar rolling oneshot axe of something like 10% chance to +500% crit damage.

Got similar trip with Lokar, but he rolled all-res i believe. Usually could kill him in 2 summons, often even before first. 35 minutes of pommel... Went to kill another one to be sure - kill before first summon.

Yeah, The Notched Bone of a Thousand Cuts. He can't spawn with that anymore but can still roll some nasty Rares.

And you are correct, the same applies to Larria (and Jannaxia). They both have a chance to drop their MI daggers; Ugdenbog Chillstrife, Flamestrife or Stormstrife. Well rolled 'strifes with rare affixes can give them 450% damage to their given damage type or with the Spellweaving suffix a few hundred % across the board.

I don't think I was lucky...I killed her 20-30 times already. She just was invincible during the last session and killed me every time I tried to deal with her. I was pissed off and quit the game and when I started the game again I was again able to kill her without troubles and without even drink a single health potion. In the previous gaming session I used maybe 20 health potions but they didn't help anyway. :)

My character is weak but I didn't change anything between the sessions. I don't think it was luck but she was really mad at me. :)

Anyway I will try to reproduce the issue and will try to record it as well. I will farm her a lot from now on to see what went wrong.
