Occultist Or Necro Or Something Else?
Heyo.
I play grimdawn for quite a while now but just managed to finish the story once.
I mostly Stop playing a Charakter becasue they are to weak and cant kill very good or are boring to play.

With the new Dlc is heared the Announce of the Necro and started a Summoner... but old problem its getting boring again.

Now i wana go for a Mage like build and wanna go for vita, poisen and chaos dmg and stuff.
I have the Imagine of an "unholy mage" Like the Pleague doctor^^
But i dont Know wich classes are good for that. Iwould take Main occultist and second Necro but i dont know if a mage is going well without good equip ??

Maybe u guys have some ideas for Masterys and skills to use for my idea :D

Heya, I've got a lvl 74 conjurer (occultist + shaman) that focuses on mostly vitality and chaos damage, with a little bit of added bleeding damage. It is played like a caster, but is a lot more tanky than other casters because of all the lifesteal found in the skills & devotions. It also deals a good amount of damage. I don't like summoner builds myself, but I'm really enjoying this character, so maybe you may aswell (:
I wouldn't really consider it a plague docter though, but it is definitely an 'unholy mage' of sorts (or as I like to call it; an evil Totem Master) :p

This is what I plan my build to be at lvl 100 (it is a w.i.p.): https://www.grimtools.com/calc/q2mkeQzZ

Some explanation:
- It focuses on the use of wendigo totem & corrupted storm totem for the main source of damage and life steal. Doom bolt is used against tougher enemies/bosses for burst damage.
- Devouring swarm & curse of frailty are the debuffers, increasing the potency of skills even more
- Heart of the wild for lots of bonus health and blood of dreeg is also a must have for the health regen, poison resistance, extra damage etc.
- And then lastly solael's witchfire & posession for +% damage.
- (I also put points into sigil of consumption. I'm not sure how effictive that's gonna be yet, as I haven't finished my build and therefore I'm not using it right now. But I imagine it will be nice for some more lifesteal :D)

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask :)
Have fun with the game!~

Use Dreeg's Evil Eye. It is very flexible. You can make a spammy heavy acid/vit caster, or a heavy damage over time poison caster, or even make a weapon-based poison character which mixes in DEE poison attacks.
Or this. DEE can be used in some powerful builds :)

Occultist / Nightblade = Deadly also Occultist / Necro is very good once you can surround yourself with all the pets Falcon, Hellhound, Skeletons, and the Big Nasty Plagueblob! lol
My Fav for fast killing power though is the first suggestion, paired with the proper Devotions its just a lean mean killing machine!

When I start a new character, I tend to start out with random weapons (usualy 2H melee) that deal the most dmg.

I think with my conjurer, I put 1 point in devouring swarm & heart of the wild, but you can put a little more into devouring swarm early on if you want some nice AoE clear speed. I do recommend to get both totems as soon as possible though. And then when you get into Occultist, i'd go for blood of dreeg asap aswell

Generally, you'll usually want to invest most points into the mastery early on (gives you a bunch of extra health too) so that you can get to your core skills asap.

If you're wondering about gear (I'm pretty sure you already know this, but just to sure :P): be sure to get equipment that boosts your resistances, health, defensive ability etc. Extra damage is always nice, but survivabilty is key :)
As far as weapons go, I'd recommend things like scepters and such that grant flat vit & +% vit/chaos damage (and more damage also means more lifesteal) and looking for an off-hand/ book that also gives +% damage, cooldown reduction and maybe even some more resistances.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop rambling now, because I'm starting to feel like I'm patronizing you (and that, I definitely do not want) If you have more questions, shoot!

I went with occultist/shaman I believe which is "conjurer" it's extremely strong, or at least was when I last played.
Matthew Jan 31, 2018 @ 11:42am
Swarm can be good for leveling. You can always respec out of it at a later point. Respecs are cheap early on so 12-16 points into a skill to help level is rather cheap to switch out of later on.

i have a 76 cabalist (occultist/necro) pet build right now. it's invincible. end of. outright invincible. i have almost always 18 concourrent pets ( or more ) ,all of them always perma buffed many multyple times by an assortment of skills both active and passive from an array of items, devotions etc. and i can't remember the last time my health bar got a dent, let alone the last time i died. i don't even need the remaining level ups till level 100 i think, it's already stupid strong
