Plains of Strife rift is random? Help please-cannot locate.

I have been through the plains of Strife twice now and cannot find the rift. The map is wide open so it should show it. Is it closer to fort Ikon or the gates of necroplios? I read a thread where it says it's random. Is this correct? Thanks for any help. I have restarted the game twice as well to respawn any monsters but it still does not show.

You may think this will not work but shut off the minimap when you go looking for something specific on any map. Why? Because it keeps ya focused on the actual gameplay and not eyeballing the minimap. Plus, it doesn't show on any maps anyways.

I exclusively play without the minimap on and pop open the main map every so often but I find stuff much faster and many more hidden areas doing it this way.

Lastly, yes it is random on the map.

Edit: actually "random" is wrong. It seems to manifest in a few spots and not, simply, anywhere. Just keep looking. It is there, every time. Good luck! I have to take a dump.

Ok, thank you. Any reason why this rift is random and none of the others are? Once I have cleared the entire map I would think it would show. 'Ive walked the darn area three times now and have not found it.

Which ones? I all the way to the inner necroplis and all the other rifs Iv'e found are stationary.

the rift in the plains of strife can spawn in 3 different locations, if you struggle to find it have a look on the grim dawn wiki there is a map on there that shows the 3 possible spawn spots

The rifts in the Blood Grove and Malmoth outskirts are randomly chosen from a few locations, as are some cave entrances.
