What should I do once I'm level 100?
The grind is over, but I'm trying to figure out what to do now that I can't level anymore. I'm playing on the hardest level now, but I'm kind of in a rut. Drops of uniques are so rare that sets don't seem like something practical, so any suggestions as to what I should try to do now to keep the game fun? Aside from creating new characters, I hate spellcasters and range chars. I love this game, but I need something to keep it interesting. Suggestions?

Have you fought all the Nemesis-monsters? Have you defeated all the Uberbosses? Is every reputation maxed out? Have you tried our Crucible?

That's "all" there is, really, if you're not interested in just farming for gear.

I personally find the crucible boring (personal preference, not a dig at it) but yeah, perhaps I should go after the uberbosses (I've killed a bunch but prolly not all) and max my rep. But as I've done al the quests, I'm guessing the only way to max rep is by killing, eh?

Bounties are a nice way to get it. But yea, killing is the way to go overall. Which isn't a problem since you'll also get some loot while doing it. Just find a fun place to grind, that's pretty much it.

I'm not touching crucible either. It's just... Not that fun. Some people like it, so might as well suggest it.

But for me, the game is about the leveling up-part, which I like. There's not much to do besides the end bosses after maxed out, so I'll just make more characters.

If/when you can take out Ravager and Modrogan on ultimate your build is finished.

There is also the John Bourbon clones from a secret questline in Ult. There is a guide Dalias secret quest to get to him eventually.

If you haven't, you can finish the campain and the expac storyline.

As for gear farming, I'd suggest doing it by small doses, and check what legendaries you have and see if they inspire you a new character concept, for example, you got a nice mythical 2 handed axe for Inquisitor and Nightblade, try levellling one. Even if you don't have a full set, you can begin to level a new character that can use it, because :
- you can always drop a new piece of the set while you level-up
- the next expac will introduce a way to tranform a set piece into another piece of said set, and even reroll a set piece into another totally random set piece.

This means that accumulating set pieces, whatever they are, is good on the long term, because you'll be able to complete sets much much easier than before, so better begin to prepare now!

Expac? Does that mean expansion or something?

Also I'm unclear about gear farming in that isn't it totally random what drops (except some critters who are known to drop certain items)? For regular epic etc gear, how can one legit farm them? And thanks for the info.

1 - Yes expansion
2 - Dungeons and nemessis bosses for legendaries

Few builds can actually legit kill Ravager. For other builds no matter what you do, you won't be able to kill him.

OP, if you achieved level 100 and can do pretty much all the content (except of those BS super bosses) there is nothing to do really other than creating a new character.

Imho, the best non-crucible way to farm legendaries is to make yourself a route aiming at specific Bosses and checking for hero spawns on the way. For example, I like to make short cycles of Crowley rush, Gutworm rush, Salazar rush, and treasure trove in the Forgotten Depths rush.

It can even become interesting to try new routes and to build your own rush routine. For example, I kill every enemy when I rush Salazar because the cultists have a very good Chtonian Seal droprate. When I rush the Gardian of Solael in the Broken Hills, I take the northern path, checking for hero spawns on the way, kill the Boss, and check one last hero spawn before resetting. Also, I really like Crowley rush (like many others) because of the dynamite drops, and there are two aether crystals to kill in Crowley's boss room, so it's also a tiny aether shards source, but on the other end, if I'm really low on aether shards, I know that Krieg rushes are very interesting. Gutworm rushes are not that interesting loot-wise because there aren't often heros on the way, but it's very quick to check for the three possible cave entrance locations, and Gutworm does drop more blueprint than average...and so on, and so on.

like all games there comes a time when you reach true end game, you can do what everyone else sugested, but then eventually even that will be done and your done the game... meaning in the end you will have to make new characters, but they don't have to be ranged. if you want to really streach the game out, play it on hardcore.. it's frustrating at first, but in the end you learn to accept death and look forward to rebirth as a noob

Try hardcore there is nothing like losing a level 100 with good gear for the first time, seriously if you want a challenge and prepared for disappointment hc is good you have to play the game totally different and fighting strong enemies can be really exciting as one mistake will be your last, due to losing three heroes in a week lol i went back to playing normal dying isnt a problem i can live with the loss its if they die wearing three pieces of a set you have been trying to collect for the last week and that perfect axe that hurts the most.
If it's your first time bear in mind nothing from normal carries over it is like starting again from the beginning nothing in your normal stash can be used hc.

HC!!!

You play hardcore dude, with a new character. See if you can even get past the first hero of the game without it taking you out with it.

I know i'm not alone when i say that the Crucible is absolutely awful, except for low level devotion points boosting. Standing still in an arena and slaying the ever same waves of monsters is simply not fun.

You can farm gear in the campaign, but if you can already beat all the content there then the incentive to farm better gear just to farm faster is... not really there.
Drop rates are abysmal, example i've been trying to farm the Krieg set for about a week but never got the gloves (instead 4x shoulders). Besides that plenty of Nemesis kills, and a huge mess in the stash with 1 item from each other set in the game.

Hopefully the next expansion will add some kind of endgame like "endless dungeons" or Diablo's rift system.
