How much OA to have a decent crit chance?
My toon is a lv75 Druid, lightning damage through WD and ST. OA sits at 1735 with a fair amount of it coming from Inner Focus, Devotions & gear (always trying to keep resistances high).

I'm barely criting monsters and no chance against bosses. The last boss kill was Zaria and my crit chance against her was 0%.

I'm a bit worried since I have a couple of proc on crit like Hand of Ultos and the proc from Stormweave Armor.

edit: Currently on Elite difficulty.

for ultimate about 2300-2400 at least/. For elite i would say 2000 or more
My OA is around 2800 and it's rare for me to Not see a crit.
Chartacer with said OA is level 100, doe.
I see, gonna try to aim for those numbers then.

For ultimate 3000+ is the sweet spot. For DA 2700+ is the "not get crit by _insert boss here_" sweet spot
You will have to sacrifice a lot of other stats with most mastery combinations if you want to get 3000 OA and 2700 DA. 2600 in each is plenty for lvl 100 on Ultimate, and even that may be overkill for most situations.

You can always check your chance to hit/crit and to be hit/crit by mousing over the OA/DA on your character info sheet. It will show you the % in relation to the last enemy that you hit or that hit you. 15-25% crit chance is plenty unless you are doing a very specific +crit damage and on crit proc reliant build. This chance will vary significantly depending on how many levels higher the enemy is than your character (bosses will be much higher than trash mobs).

Then 2600 it is.

I will probably have to review my Devotions, not much OA for Druid in the skill tree unless I go melee just to add Tenacity of the Boar.
For a "decent" crit rate against bosses, it is indeed around 3000+

But unless you have high crit damage % to go along with it, it is a rather minor overall increase to dps so it isn't something you need to worry over. The primary reason for crits is to keep proc from items and devotions up. If your crit rate is high enough to support that, then you needn't go higher unless you are coupling it with high crit damage %
Also don't forget abilities which raise or lower OA. That 3k number is including those, so some builds have rather low sheet OA values but still get decent crit rates after buffs and debuffs are applied.
Pre AOM around 2500 oa and 2200 DA was good but now, around 3000 OA is just right for end game content. Maybe you can make do with 2700 OA but you would rarely crit bosses or nemesis. DA should be at a minimum of 2400. 2700 to be near "uncritable" but even then some bosses would still be able to crit.(mostly because of DA shred)

Try putting 1 point in savagery and its OA and DA modifier. Then just be sure to hit something once every now and then to keep the OA and DA boost.

Thanks for the info. I'm just finishing Elite and I was actually thinking about switching to melee for fun, so I might just swap to a Savagery centered build and farm SoT for a while before hitting Ultimate.

Well, you can try melee if you think that it suits you more but there's really no need to go full melee. You can just use savagery as a way to buff your OA/DA if you want.
Yeah it is good to boost your OA/DA against bosses. Your OA/DA will probably be good enough against regular enemies so you don't need to stress over trying to keep it up all the time. Just work it into a skill rotation against bosses to partially negate their higher-than-normal-enemy OA/DA levels.
well i have 2.12x crit so it is not that bad should i invest to at least 2600 ?
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
