Most efficient way for gold income
First of all, I'm not talking about gold farming or anything like that.
What's the most efficient way to have a steady gold income throughout the game? For example in Diablo an simple way to get a lot of gold is picking up magic staves and rings, since they have high value modifiers, and later on armors will also reach max price.

I haven't found anything like that in this game, I used to sell all magic items I found, but it got so bothersome that I've just switched to rare items only.

And just to be clear, I'm mostly thinking of having more than enough gold for smithing, illusionist, inventor, etc. Thanks!

You will have more than enough iron at the end of Elite. Even if you just collect rare+ loot after that your income will sky rocket. E: I've recently taken a character from 1-97 (nearing the end of AoM on ultimate), only picking up rare+ loot, and the character has over 3 mill in iron.

Bits have never been a problem for me. I'd say just play and you are fine. Looting the right objects and chest will get yah extra bits.

Selling gear too.I dont pick up yellows after lv 10 or so. Dont even bother with greens after normal. Still have plenty of bits.

Maybe you are crafting and trying to get perfect rolls or w/e like D3... I wouldnt bother with that in GD.

Fastest way to get bits would be to 'cheat' . You could just set the bits to what you want using tools or w/e

I see, I figured that the further you get into the game, the less the early effort is worth. I guess that I should've expected that.

Nah, the problem I used to have in these kinds of games is that I spend way too much effort on things that isn't really worth it in the long run. In my first run of Titan's Quest I cleared every area and got burned out, it's just a bad habit I want to get rid off since it's time consuming and not really fun.

I have a level 25 with over 50k already. He'll have over 200k by the time I reach Homestead. By the end of Normal/Vet he'll have 500k-1 million depending on my spending habits and whether I decide to do AoM or not. All you need to do is kill things, smash things, open things and sell greens++ (never yellows). This has been my method in GD since early 2014. That's it.

If you want to have plenty of iron for crafting, lots of respeccing, buying rares from vendors, etc. I would leave the filter set at green+ once you're past level 10-20ish and yellows no longer offer upgrades. If you only pick up blue+ to sell there won't be enough income to sustain crafting costs at high level. 75,000 - 125,000 iron a pop to craft each random legendary item at the celestial smiths, for example, can drain the funds pretty quickly, along with any rare mats that you've managed to farm up.

Of course, you *could* just hack your iron, but then why bother picking up anything at all? May as well just use an inventory editor to give yourself all the items, too. That will quickly diminish the enjoyment you receive from the game, reducing the amount of hours you get out of GD, but to each their own.
Join Ultimate die farm Crucible matches and sell all of the yellow and green stuff. Million+ in an hour, easily.

Just sell everything green or above you find by time you hit ultimate youll have a sh** ton of money youll never use... its a non issue basically
