How do you cross the bridge to homestead
The one that's north of twin falls, I started a new game and there's no option to fix it even though I have like 99 scrap and like a billion gold

it was a stone bridge, no amount of scrap will fix that, only option is to go through the arkovian undercity.

Never has been fixable in game and never will be. As said through the undercity and Smuggler's Pass is the only way to reach Homestead.

Excuse the one-year necro, but if it wasn't possible then it shouldn't/woudn't have its own quest objective. It literally has a checkbox next to 'Cross the bridge near Twin Falls to enter Homestead' and a checkbox next to '(Or) Travel through Smuggler's Pass'. There is strong indication is *is* possible.

Well, hasn't been so far but ....

7th February 2020 dev stream:

"gothboyyyyyyy: what will happen to twin falls?

Now I was expecting that question to come up. The answer is ... you'll be able to go through that bridge. We're going to open that area up, we've actually been working on some new little bit of content over there for you to explore. There'll be some mobs to fight there, some something to collect and it will offer you a shortcut from the riftgate straight to Tyrant's Hold. Not as popular a destination as it used to be, obviously from vanilla, but still it's really cool that if you progress through Tyrant's Hold down south to Twin Falls, from that direction you'll be able to repair the bridge and proceed to the riftgate. It will not change the progression that you have currently in terms of how you get to Homestead for new characters; they will still progress exactly as we intended through Smuggler's Pass, through the Mountain Deeps to Homestead. But for characters that have all the riftgates or have already cleared that area they can just go through Tyrant's Hold, down south, repair that bridge and you have another way through. It opens up the world a little more and in a place that people have been looking forward to seeing for a long time."

Interesting. Maybe it was a hint all along they were gonna do something with it. Still, as it is right now it is tricking players into thinking it's actually possible. No reason to suggest otherwise. Thanks for that news anyway - I wonder how repairing the bridge will look. Probably just some wooden boards joining the bridges.

Well, back in early access development the devs resigned that whole Arkovian Foothills area because people kept skipping Cronley and then having problems later on. When they did that they "broke" any possibility of the bridge being repairable, though I don't think that was ever going to happen anyway. Text is probably just a teaser to make you think it might be possible. Sneaky devs. :steamhappy:

There where pictures about patch 1.1.6.0 that led to assumptions of it beeing repairable at that patch.
If there were then they didn't read the GM properly. :steamfacepalm:

"But wait…hot on the heels of v1.1.6.0, we still have some treats for you down the line. While we’re not ready to discuss all of them in detail, we’ll leave you with this image to ponder what’s next!"

Also in the latest GM:

"Today, we’re ready to talk about more of what’s still in store for Grim Dawn! Attention is now turning to V1.1.7.0 (and perhaps beyond? Hmm?)."

Suggest you don't make assumptions, then you won't be disappointed when those assumptions prove false.

So very true (-:

though I wasn't sure when I would be able to have an appointment at that bridge ;)

Or If I didn't mess it up how to act right with the NPCs around and in New Haven

April 2021 and it is now traversable but you need to be on the other side to fix the bridge, so first pass will always be through arkovian city. It is awesome the devs keep adding to this game :)

I was thinking that I'd missed that area all these years, nice surprise.

Well, you have because the area southeast/east of Tyrant's Hold is new.
