Report a translation problem
Cause at the start you just pick items with highest numbers. Later you have to combine those numbers, care about resistances and damage types

It's definitely not needed tho (except in the most rudimentary of ways) to enjoy the game. I've been doing just fine for years now disregarding math in my Grim Dawn at every opportunity.
You try to get your numbers as high as possible to overopower numbers from enemies
As a player, you choose which numbers you throw at enemies
You also want to have numbers high enough to counter any number the enemies could throw at you
It is just hidden by nice graphics...but in the end, it is all about numbers
So no. I dont want to change your mind.
