Can't enter windowed mode
On windows 10 whenever I tell it to switch to windowed mode it doesn't do anything. In fact it doesn't look like any of the video options are doing anything. This happens on both x64 and normal versions. Can anyone help?

Edit: I can't change any settings under options, don't have an options.txt file for Grim Dawn, and using alt-enter puts it into windows mode at the size of my desktop, which doesn't help at all.

you can also try the stuff in this post: https://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showpost.php?p=630336&postcount=3

usually if there's any resolution weirdness, i'll alt-enter and then use that default resolution to adjust to the resolution and other options i want. you can also try window-borderless mode. But if you can't change any options at all, I think I'll need to ask a few extra questions.

1) does Grim Dawn let you click stuff in Options menu, but it doesn't save?
-- I suspect that would be an administrator problem... launch steam with admin privileges: shutdown steam completely, right-click on the steam launcher shortcut, and choose Run as Admin.

2) does Grim Dawn prevent you from clicking anything in the options menu?
-- not sure of any other solutions besides reinstalling the game. Maybe someone else has suggestions.

Just saw your other thread. not sure what else you can try. powbam mentioned a thing about the display character size in the main thread of that forums post.

Try alt-enter. There is also an options.txt you could edit. Search in both steam and crate forums for instructions, unless someone is kind enough to check for you. I’m not near my computer atm so that’s as far as I can go for now.

Too be clear, none of the video settings will change and I can't seem to find the options.txt file on windows 10, it doesn't seem to be in the same place as on windows 7. Haven't been able to find anything on the forums about this problem, or I wouldn't have needed a new thread.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's still won't save changes to the options, but I got the option.txt file to appear, at least part of it and I can now play the game how I want. I found a copy of the file online, created the folder and imported the copy into, then after that screwed everything up, I deleted the folder, reinstalled the game and ran the repair utility. Apparently something in there did something that made it work, at least partly. Not all of the parameters that should be in the options.txt file seem to be there but the ones that most affected me are.
