Is there a way to set way points?
also I still can't find where to go for the first quest I think I'm quite lost thats the reason why I like the quest arrows that show you where to go

No, Grim Dawn isn't a game that will hold your hand and point you in the right direction. Just explore everywhere and you'll find all sorts of stuff.

As for the first quest really, you can't find Burial Hill? Then just follow the road out of Devil's Crossing. When you get close, a star will appear on the mini-map making the location of the quest.

The GD Wiki also gives info/maps of quest locations

There is a map on grimtools, which is quite usefull.
But seriously though, what is with the people that cant do basic things like read quest description? Why is that so hard for them?

You'd be surprised. When I was still playing the original quest, there were people who could never find their way around despite having maps that clearly mark where important things are. Just sad how many people can't find their way anywhere.

I run a clan for one game which tries to be mmo, but fails. So i had a lot of people that are much smarter than i am ask me dumb question that to me are self-evident. This is what baffles me, really, i am supposed to be lazy and dumb. I am kinda eager to help, but when you hear same question hundred times, question that you literally can find answer to just reading description of item/skill you are talking about, from people who play for 300 hours already, you get frustrated over time.
Perhaps experience in real life do not transfer to games easily, if at all.

some (if not all) of the areas are kinda large compared to your size. but they only have one entrance and one exit, like a string of popcorn. Diablo 2 was like this also, only Grim Dawn's areas are not randomized. it's possible you might need to explore more. pretty much just keep going north (in the case of Act 1), and keep going west (in the case of Act 2). But definitely try and explore the whole area at least once. There's a lot of hidden stuff that you can also find via the maps above. Granted I get what you mean, but Grim Dawn as is won't do it. Perhaps a Mod can be written (I'm assuming one isn't already out there).

grim dawn is basically like ok were not gonna put any quest markers at all and it isnt a straight map
thats the reason I played path of exile for 200 hours it was straight map it didnt show you were the quest was but you could find it since you can really veer off too far with out hitting the edge but grim dawn doesnt do any of that when im at the objective it says nothing I missed the area 5 times before finding it

Don't really see how you could miss it since it's name will appear onscreen when you reach that area. The same happens for all new areas as you cross them. It also shows it above the mini-map.

For the majority of quests once you get close enough a Star will appear on your map. Don't know how its possible to miss Burial Hill since its a giant graveyard.

You could set your own personal Portal or Rift up. It will only be removed once you use it both ways, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, it stays up, I think maybe even upon reloading the game. (I confuse a bit Titan Quest and Grim Dawn, since I often will alternate playing them, but in most mechanics they are the same)

What I sometimes do, in order to aid orientation, is I set my own Personal Rift up, then I note where the other Rifts or Portals to locations are, if I have found them already. I then can use them to note where I am, like a rudimentary method of triangulation. I clear the area around my local Portal, and either use another Rift or run back and then return another way or vice-versa. So my Personal Rift stays up as a marker.

If you clear out your Rift's area , then just cast another nearer to the Rifts you find, and clear out that area, you have basically a map marker on the map.

Working up to the next location's Rift, and you know where to start next time, if you want. Exploring is fun and easy to do in this game, so it isn't a big deal either way.

There are Rifts already marked on the largest version of the Map, I'm referring to those here as Location Rifts. Personal Rifts you create for yourself. If you use them both ways, they are removed I think. If you place another Personal Rift, it removes the previous version, I believe.

Personal rifts stay in place however long you leave them. Put one up and as long as you don't cast another one it'll stay there until the play session ends. They don't carry over though and you can only have one personal riftgate up at a time.

Grim Dawn is played like games used to be played before the Whinials took over. There's no hand-holding here. I never thought I'd say it's a breath of fresh air to be able to figure out things on my own.

Spot on, mate... although Grim Dawn does a lot of tutorial stuff and area till Warden Krieg itself is one big tutorial + there are tips in loading screen as well tips poping up occasionaly (but you can even turn them off).

Plus, unlike in good 'ol days, when you had to ask your classmates for ingame tips, and usually were left to figure out things on your own, 'cause your classmates were and still are pricks nowadays you can use google. The very first result for "grim dawn map" is... well, grim dawn map.
