Flame Torrent really that good for Pet-Cabalist / Petbuilds and devotion-attackskills
Hey, guys!

I've been toying around with my Pet-Cabalist and recently unlocked Flame torrent from the devotions.
I've skipped that skill for a pretty long time until i heared that it would scale with petbonuses if applied to a pet and that its THE most important skill for any skeletonbased petbuild.

Now i've been playing with it for a while and i am not convinced. I wonder if that advise i've read was up-to-date since the author of it also said Flame torrent would have no cd which is wrong. In the current game version it has 0.5 seconds, which is still short but makes the, tremendously important difference between the melee-skeletons having the torrent or not.

Cuz what essentially happens is that my rangers and sorcerers, which dont go into melee-range, obviously constantly trigger flame torrent and basically waste it cuz its on cd for the melee-skeles the skill is intended for.
I am thinking now to bind flame torrent to the fiend or the hellhound (if i get lost souls set i've got 2 of them and that might rock quite a bit still)
Or i might drop it entirely and get something else instead (its kind of a waste of devotion points since the points to get there dont really give me anything useful. In other words that skill needs to really really kick ♥♥♥ for it to be worth being in my setup.

I checked out "The Carnival - Petguide" before posting this to see if i can refind the informations above. Not only did i not find any of the abovementioned statements, Maya (the writer of the guide) does not utilize flame torrent on her (or is it his?) skeleton-cabalist.

Also i played a Pyromancer (years ago) and had flame torrent on my hellhound. But that build was not a petbuild and the flametorrent hit like crazy. So i wonder if that "if you apply it to a pet it scales with petbonuses" holds true.

In other words: I am really uncertain what to make of flame torrent in this build or, in a wider context with devotion-attackskills in petbuilds in general. It seems the info i've read was, at least partially wrong or outdated.

I' d be grateful for any insights on this topic.

IIRC it used to have 0 cooldown, so a dozen skeletons could each have their own flame torrent. which is no longer the case, so it's no surprise you found it underwhelming

there are two types of flame torrent build, one is chaos and fire, two is vitality and chaos. and both of it using skeleton as primary attacker.

Dont do that. Keep it bound to skellies. What you need to do is have your pet attack button bound. Hold it next to a boss and all your pets will stack on that point. Let go and watch the magic happen

thanks guys! Well i guess imma go for something different then. I dropped dying god in favour of flame torrent you must know. I will take that over flame torrent if its not that useful anymore.

I didnt like the whole idea in the first place. I mean dropping 4 devotion points into almost completely useless stuff only to get there.

@Rikkore: So it is only useful for bosses now? If even since i can only have like 3 torrents at the same time at max.

I still would like to know, though how the scaling of these skills is. Is it really drawing from petbuffs only if its on pets (if so i need to reconsider my pyromancer-build) or doest it take the highest buff or how does this work. Its probably going to be my last petbuild anyways but i still would like to know. ^^

edit: i miscalculated: i cant go dying god anyways but i have a bunch of other nice things i can get now. ^^

cabalist, is really fast defeating bosses, but it come with risk, unlike conjurer, they are sturdy enough to take boss hit, cabalist in the other hand they are soft. there was exception like Maya did to her wraith cabalist, she can restore health easy and have good defense because possession skill.
