Strange key

I cant drop strange key, around 40 tries already and nothing, I suppose I have to delete my character and start again, not killing the dude who can give me the key, but how am I suppose to know that before? This really ruined my game

It's only an optionnal quest. What if you can do it in this run ?

Well, that's exactly the point. You are not supposed to know before hand. The key does have a purpose. You just have to find the right door. Have you tried leaving the key in your stash? Quest items can usually be stored there.

where are u farming strange key ? it only dropped from the cultists in ACT 1.

Its all random unless you have it in your inventory, then it wouldnt drop.

My bad, dude. Totally misunderstood your problem. Not sure why the key isn't dropping for you. It always drops for me without fail. Strange.

I am exactly at the same mission, and to make things clear to me, to kill Salazar I have to enter that locked door southeast of the area the mission is pointing to, right?
And where do I get this key again?

It's a random drop, you've just been really unlucky. There is another way to get it if I remember correctly. Go to Burrwitch Ourskirts and look for one of those stands that drop notes. Going north from the portal, it's in the first house on your right. What you want is "Cultist Orders". This starts a quest involving the greatest cockroach in the game, Direni. If you then go to Devil's Crossing and make a deal with him instead of killing him, he will give you the key.

The key drops from cultists in Act 1. Those cultists can be found around entrance to Cultist lair or their camp in front of The locked doors. There is also another way to get it with out luck (farming) and that is to find character Direni and Cultist's orders (book). After you send him to Devil's Crossing and find Cultist's orders you will have and option to kill him (get small reward scrap, money) or you can spare him and he will give you the key.
