It currently works only for shortcuts.

That or you can opt to use GrimInternals which will launch the game in x64 with some QOL though I mean it's really up to you.
Set Steam launch options from within your library in steam applications
COde is:
-64bit

DONE
Idk what people are talking about. Both /x64 and -64bit launch options won't work. Either way Steam will show the prompt and will ask which version to launch.

as long as GD is one of your 5 last played games, you can launch it from the Steam tray icon. (right click on steam tray, select GD from the list) It uses your last launch selection.
what's the difference between "play Grim Dawn" and "play Grim Dawn x64"? I assuming the latter is coded for Win10 but what's the effect on gameplay? Better FPS? More stable?

if you have a 64 bit operating system, play the game in 64 bit (you can check if you do by going to settings, system, about in win10). the game will run better for you, plus you can then toggle deferred rendering to on and get some awesome spell effects that light up dark areas.
oh cool, thanks!

x64 is the Architecture your Processor handles threads of information in. It also allows for higher amounts of RAM to be accessible to the processor so that more data is easily read and written in a faster fashion. It is a general improvement to your hardware specs. Where in x32 you are gated behind 4gb's of RAM as a Maximum x64 can exceed upwards of 128gbs of RAM. In processes, IE: Grim Dawn. It can mean the difference between 200 enemies on the screen and a lag slow down during computing the damage out put that has just occurred as you killed them... Or you Freezing up and having to Alt-Ctrl-Del or worse... Hold the power button to let it shutoff manually which that can damage your system long term.

I hope this has answered your question and further questions. Enjoy your mornings :)

You can try a lot more commands than just that before holding the shutdown button
Also, it doesn't damage the system, FREQUENT USE - will cause the hard drive to not boot up smoothly, and EVENTUALLY - windows will want a restart.. but you need to do this like 5 times per day for a year to even create 'damage'

X64 is great though - Some games deserve it, some don't. Dota 2 vulkan only runs in 64 bit. Crate should bring Vulkan to GD :D

Properly quoting someone is a thing too. I stated "Long Term" Not immediate. Windows will want a lot more than just a restart. It will want you to verify and check that the C:\Windows file structure is okay and if it isn't it will want you to re-install the OS. Please. Don't insult my intelligence by contradicting known facts.

If the PC has Frozen and Ctrl-Alt-Del does not respond what other features are there that you can utilize that will unfreeze the Processor? I don't know of any. I mean.. Windows Key-Alt allows for a new Desktop to be created but that's not going to work if the entire CPU has locked itself in a redundancy and frozen.
Task Manager also has a always show on top feature which has been useful for some locked up games but we aren't talking about a simple locked up game. We are talking about a complete system freeze.

I agree. x64 is amazing but Vulkan is the superior API and enabling support for that would take a development chunk of time.. I'd like to hear @Zantai speak on that possibly feature.

Log out. Run windows commands with the windows button and watch them work, Even without your vision of it. I haven't done that since windows 10 exists.
Windows button R and log off - or lock it- windows button and L -
Ctrl Shift Escape -
Check numpad- if that is responding, i'd do all of the above before stopping it.
Only windows blue screens have made me need to re//

@I would love them to progress in the vulkan way of things for future endeavours. It could change the world, and the opportunities are large.

Yeah but once again you reply to something that is meant in the idea of a system wide freeze. At that point in time nothing but a manual restart is required. Have you never had a system lock up and refuse user-input? Must not be on the Overclocking or Hardware side of the PC world.

Quoted for various reasons to back up...

Thing is, when you are looking at a screen where the mouse doesn't move doesn't respond, keyboard input's do not work either, you are telling me that Windows+R is going to fix it and that's just not how things work brother. You need to get some research done.
Yes- I can tell you that if you see the mouse not moving, but the keyboard numpad, or capslock responds YOU CAN DO SOMETHING BETTER THAN PUSH THE BIG BUTTON :) amen.

You need to try harder. End of story.
