Nemesis bosses on Ultimate
Nemesis bosses on ultimate are a joke! who designed this crap. Have to kill a boss 3 times , mean while it freezes, slows and one shots. Melee builds get wasted, Risk vs Reward is crap.
Did you hire Jay Wilson to design them? Because it sure seems like it. I love a challenge, but whats the point. Die a ton and get crap for it. Better off just skipping them. Really big turn off for me. Cant figure out how to make bosses challenging so you just make it so you have to kill them 3 times and make them one shot melee while your frozen and cant fight back.... FUN NOT

The point of Nemesis monsters is to be challenging.
If you die a lot, you need to get a better build. To do that, 2 options are the best : 1) Clear rogue-like dungeons, which have bosses a little weaker than Nemesis, or 2) Play some Shattered Realm, but I think it's not gonna be as great as the option 1.

Just craft yourself a bunch of Hoarfrost Ointments, and then even you can bully Moosie around.

It is probably because your build lacks DA & OA. Don't run nemesis bosses until you pump up those numbers.

Don't bully Mossy, even though it's undead, it still has it's feelings, I think...

+1, Moosie is a cool guy. Please be fair to him and kill him with respect.

Sounds like you've found your nemesis ;)

Nemesis are for a lot of players the end game. They are god tier challenge bosses. Of course they'll kick your but if you're not prepared. After killing them there are even stronger critters. Have fun.

You can try aleksander if you're a melee build. He dies rather quickly and has two dangerous attacks that are dodgeable, it's much safer if you've got a pair of runeguard greaves, just keep avoiding the big meteor.

if your defenses arent up to par yeah they're gonna one shot you for sure. all about just learning the fights, dodging mechanics

The reason you run into this kind of stuff comes down to a few problems with the game:

1. This game doesn't really explain just how damn important Defensive Ability is if you don't want to get one shot by bosses. The rule of thumb is: Your level * 25 is the bare minimum, your level * 30 is good for DA.

2. This game's progression system has a giant lull in it when your first character hits 100 and the only way to get stronger is to get better gear, but there are thousands of legendary items in the game and getting a set you actually want is still hundreds of hours off at that point. By the time you have gathered enough legendaries to finish sets you have enough of them to gear up multiple characters instantly, but your first character is just stuck in crap-mode for ages because of this system. This is honestly a problem because it's not a smooth curve of how long finishing a character takes. It's not like it's 100 hours to finish one character, and 200 to finish two and so on, it's more like it's 1000 hours to finish one character, and 1050 to finish the second and so on, so a lot of people will never even finish a single one.

3. Augments and Components don't seem like a big deal, but they are absolutely essential. Especially resistances are extremely important, and right until you hit the cap the more you stack the more powerful they are. It may seem like the difference between 60% resistance and 80% resistance isn't all that big, but that extra 20% actually cuts the damage you take in half, because you have to think of it as taking 40% of the enemies attack vs. taking 20% of the enemies attack. If that attack one shots you at 40% strength it probably won't at 20% strength.

Last poiint of aetrion is very important. In this game, on ultimate, having cap res isint what you need to steam roll stuff, its what you need to survive just 1 hit in regards to MANY moves that stuff can toss out at you when it comes to ultimate.

Even with cap res ♥♥♥♥ can still hit hard, for instance, There is one side/mini boss in AoM expack in a cellar that is basically an ice mage (think his name was tellax or something along those lines). When fighting him for first time on ultimate, i had 84% cold res, 4% above the cap. Dude had an ice meteor spell on long cd that did about roughly 6-6.4k dmg to my 7.1kish hp soldier/inquis dude. Thats with 84% cold res. 4% above the cap. (was hard to dodge too due to having a rather big impact radius in a small area that forced me to try to teleport out of range rather then run out of range)

It often depends on the Build, i faced the beast and the cthon Nemesis Boss with my vitality Caster and both went down nearly like a normal tough Boss, i never dropped below 80%.
And with others i could have alot more problems.

My necro/solider build is solid. MY resists are about 60% across the board on Ultimate, My guy is level 97. I don't have a complete set of legendary yet, but i do have a few legendary pieces.
These bosses would be easy to kite/kill with a range spec. Quite different when playing a melee that gains life on damage. But you don't gain crap while frozen solid for 6 secs.

Also risk vs reward. These nemesis bosses don't seem to have a higher loot table than farming other bosses. At least not of what i have seen. Not to mention having to kill these bosses 3 times as a added mechanic.
