OP:
From what I gather the order to play in terms of furthering the Grim Dawn story/lore is Ashes of Malmouth, then Forgotten Gods, then Crucible?

- Ashes of Malmouth adds two acts straight after the ending of Grim Dawn (of which I have yet to finish so no spoilers please)

- Forgotten Gods adds one new act with a side serving of wave/level/rogue dungeon play

- Crucible adds no new acts or story and is some form of gladitorial mode

Please correct me here if I am wrong with acts/story etc.

the original story is after you finish vanila game, you go to malmouth by talking to creed (ashes of malmouth), and then to korvan sands(forgotten gods) by talking to emissary.

The smoothest progression is GD - AoM - FG. GD and AoM are about the main storyline. FG is a side story involving the Witch Gods. Crucible is a separate add on that has nothing to do with the story, it's simply a battle arena type mod to test your characters and earn loot.
