I wouldn't put all your eggs in that basket.
That's the thing. Now that I have enough to start working on the Kracken tree, I'm wondering if I should. I'd hate to invest in it only to find a dual wield combo that's better and thus waste the investment.
But it by no means renders dw obselete some of the nastiest builds in the game are dw
Well I've been using a two-hander for the last 20 hours or so of gameplay, so at this point it seems wise to invest in the Kracken, but like you say there is the chance I'll find a dual wield that's better, which at that point would mean the devotion points in the Kracken would be wasted. So it's kind of hard to figure if investing in it is worthwhile.
Waste your points all you want. They can be reset anyway. Later in the game you're going to generally have more than enough resources to do whatever you wish.
I meant for ranged weapons.
They arent DW bonuses though, they are caster bonuses, its very much a caster centric devotion. It just so happens one type of caster off hand is a dagger
* Hydra (Ranged)
* Blades of Nedaan (Swords)
* Rhowan's Scepter (Maces)
* Berserker (Axes)
My advice? Plan out where you want your build to end up; look up item sets you might use later on, and if those require any specific weapons to be used, plan on using that weapon-specific constellation. Go ahead and map out your Devotions for that. Until then, though, just go with the flow and respec them as needed.. it's really quite easy and not costly to do at all.
I dunno about caster.
It works out perfectly for my Reaper.
