[Arcanist Question] Does Haunted steel's ADTCH work on albrecht's aether ray?

So atm I am using haunted steel on my off hand/focus with hopes of getting some survivability from "attack damage converted to health" ("ADTCH"). However I don't seem to see the effects whenever I used skills like devastation or albrecht's aether ray. Does this mean the ADTCH wont trigger when i use those skills? If so i may convert it to wrathstone or something since i am specced towards on aether damage.

From what I recall, the term "attack damage converted to health" only applies to skills that apply your weapons' damage, as well as basic attacks and basic attack replacements.

So that means, if I use aether ray/devastation. It has no effect at all but rather i have actually hit my melee weapon to trigger it?

It only procs from skills that have x% weapon damage on them. It has no effect on aether ray or devastation.
