Black screen on Startup [SOLVED]
I am having a black screen on start up after downloading the ashes of malmouth dlc.
I have used the repair.exe multiple times and reinstalled the redists along with the game also updated my graphics drivers to see if that was the problem but none of these have worked.

Edit 1: Tried using DirectX 9 mode and it didnt work

Edit 2: Used Snappy Drivers Installer to update as many drivers as i had to update and no change

Edit 3: Tried deleting the settings config, that did nothing. Also tried copying the settings from a forum post and that did nothing.

Edit 4: Added UPnPEnable = false to my settings txt file to see if multiplayer had things to do with it and now it works

Adding
UPnPEnable = false
to options.txt in [...]\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\Settings worked for me.
Thanks

I just wanted to say this worked for me! I was really struggling with this issue, tried about a dozen different "fixes" and this ONE fix, changing UPnPEnable to false in the options file, worked! THANK YOU.

Hi guys, I need your help.
my grim dawn game option.txt file only has this:

screenMode = 1
resolution = 1024 768

and there is nothing else, I opened it now ....

I would like you to copy yours and pass it on to me to sort it out for me

Sorry if I wrote something wrong.

I used the google translator.

All you should need to do is Add

UPnPEnable = false

to the options.txt

I added this to my guide about GD issues. Will save it for generations if this post gets moved off the top 6 pages.
Nice find.

I guess I don’t understand why the dev doesn’t fix this problem. It seems to be pretty common. I wonder how many people buy the game and never figure out how to fix this.

It's a problem with the engine used, Upnp is not supported by quite a few modern routers from what i found, which causes the game to go into an infinite loading problem

Allot of routers/modems claim to support upnp but in reality its little more than lip service. Crate cant fix that.

Here is an old post from the network programmer at Crate explaining it in full.
