I was in elite.. and i have maxed out resists. Killed Loghorrean without problems. And i owned all other mobs and bosses. Then i got killed by Bane Gargoth. Wth just happened? I have maxed out resists, 10K HP and 13K damage and fat loats of adcth. The fff with this guy?

Edit
Sorry i got mixed out. It's not bane gargoth but Sharzul. I got killed by Sharzul in Entropy.

Shar'zul applies some hefty resistance reduction on you. I think it's his Fire tornado attacks. You have to be careful about those.

I'm a melee warder. I have maxed 80% fire resists. Just how to be careful on those fire tornadoes? I was running from him and i died. That gotta be kidding... Just how to beat this guy? Is there some sort of strategy? And i'm only on elite. This is kinda joke. I have best gear for my level, other elites and bosses drop like flies and this guys own me dang.

Shar'zul's resist reduction is a multiplicative 50%. So your 80% goes to 40% and you'd need 160 total to keep 80% vs him. 80% vs 40% is a ton more damage taken - so, like many tough situations in GD: move. Don't stand in the ♥♥♥♥.

^this right here is key
he heavily reduices your resistances for a couple of seconds, which can absolutely murder you if you aren't either overcapped, or "avoiding" it, running away etc

he can reduce your resist by up to 75% i think, for 3-5secs
so if you "Only" have 80% resist, well, then you now have 5% resist for those few seconds and any attack he does will obliterate you dmg wise if you aren't careful
KG 4 Des 2017 @ 11:05am
Shar'zul's resist reduction type is multiplicative and doesn't stack with itself. Either 25% or 50%, never 75%.

lol yea noticed, would probably help if i used the monster skill table direct on grim tools now instead of just the "monster stats" on gd site which has that little misleading wording&minus symbol on his resist reduct skill, which then would have made it stack flat, my fault

tho despite "my bad"; 50% total reduction is still nothing to "just ignore" on OP's side nor also assume one's resistances are capped all the time just because they capped in sheet, idling...

many bosses apply resist reduct, always keep that in mind OP, if you're "just" relying on your resistances

but it's capped at 80% right? so is it beneficial to go over-resists? let's say i have 120% and get 50% resist reduction, i still have 60% right? or i'm dead at 40% after the half reduction? so even it's 50% reduction it seems to kill me really fast.

getting a 50% resist reduct is massive, especially on elite, even more so ultimate, vs how easy norm/vet is
double dmg taken... so either be overcapped for that fight, (same goes for some other boss fights), or be on the move/try to avoid debuffs, and/or run the feck away if you get debuffed and can't soak it, otherwise: you are dead, -everytime

(and yea 120 would then get you 60% resist with debuff on, which is much better than 40 ofc)

"Cleansing Waters" (devotion skill) might help, I guess.
Takes away all debuffs.

not worth it for that fight...
30-20sec cd depending on devotion lvl, and would need to bind it to offensive skill you don't use except for when specifically intent to counter debuff
and OP would need to learn to recognize the 50% debuff icon, and pay attention too it and then hit the right button..
and then pray Shar'zul doesn't debuff again before cd on waters is off....

all in all, easier, simpler to just overcap resist or stay on the move and don't stand in flaming attacks..

Drop a wendigo totem and run around until the flame tornadoes disappear
