Grim Dawn slows down typing speed, what can I do? [SOLVED]

First off, the game runs well, quick specs:

GTX 970
8GB RAM
3.4 Quad Core CPU
Win 7
60 FPS

All settings maxed, I get some slow down just from walking around the very first town, but other hectic areas are fine...weird.

I'm surprised to see that while I have Grim Dawn running, if I alt tab and open a browser or Discord to look stuff up, there is a delay from when I type stuff in to when it appears on screen.

Opening other programs isn't slow, it's only the typing that's slowed to a crawl. This is a weird problem I have never had with other games. Is GD really just that stressful on my computer?

Edit: I tried changing the affinity of the cores through Task Manager, still have the problem.

Try moving the "Background FPS" slider all the way to the left.

You know what's nuts, that slider was only like 5 millimeters away from being fully to the left. I slid it that last bit just now and now everything is fine. WHAT EVEN IS THIS.

Further to the right = more FPS while the game is in the background, which eats up your performance in whatever you're doing while alt-tabbed

All the way to the left = 0 FPS and the game is paused.

Thank you old post. I don't know how this is suddenly an issue for me. I played the game a few years ago and never had this problem. I reinstalled recently and it can take up to like 10 seconds for the first letter to appear and then it types exactly 1 letter per like 3 seconds. So usually I'll have the entire sentence typed out and have to wait like a minute for it to finish typing it.

I have a Ryzen 7 3800XT, 32 gb 3600mhz RAM, RTX4070Ti, and it's installed on a Samsung PRO 970 2TB m.2 SSD. The game runs 300+ FPS in most areas so I don't see how my computer could possibly be considered as struggling to run it.
