I seem to have broke my Kymon's Chosen questline...

I've completed one playthrough previously several years ago, so I think I remember what's supposed to happen. I completed the quest, "making a stand", at which point Brother Elluvius tells me Kymon wants to speak with me. There were 2 options at this point-I don't remember exactly what they said, but I went with the second one...which I believe asked the question, "what can you tell me about Father Kymon?" Which leads me to "I see. Thank you." The next quest did not get picked up, and I can't get through the gate. Talking to Ellevius gives the dialogue "Father Kymon has requested your presence. Do not make him wait."

Based on what I remember, dialogue should have opened up with the guy by the gate so he'd open it, and I'd speak with Kymon. Is this a known glitch? What the hell am I supposed to do?

And not long after posting this, I realized the gate comes later...Kymon is sitting just off screen.

Kymon is not behind the gate at this point. You should talk to him first.

Ah yeah... there is that as well :) Kymon isn't actually behind the gate.

Just realized my mistake, the gate thing comes later lol

My previous play through experience just made me waste some time.
