I started a game as a Soldier, and when I hit 10 I went to select my second mastery. Right as I was attempting to select Demolisionist from the list of masteries the game hitched as it is wont to do and I somehow selected Soldier a second time. Now I seem to be stuck double masteried.

Awesome! Dual-wield shields, double cadence, super tanking!

GDStash http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23414 will let you fix that character.

Crate support could fix it too but I'm not sure if Zantai is working this weekend - he and the other devs deserve and need a break. He's a workaholic though.

I just tried GDStash but I couldn't get it to recognize the save files.

GDStash didn't want to edit the save files you found? Or you couldn't find them?

Might have to disable Steam Cloud Saving or something.

You aren't locked into a mastery choice until you put points into it. Just select the second soldier mastery tab and hit the undo button. Or does the game bug out and not let you into that tab at all?

@Astasia: As far as the game's concerned I've already put points into Soldier, so it locks it out. It's like having two identical tabs.

@KG: I got it to work finally, but I can't figure out how to remove mastery points or selection in GDStash.

It might be a little tough since it is the same mastery. You should refund all your points at the spirit guide in-game first. Don't worry about the cost or whatever - you're editing the character after all, so you can give the gold back and lower your "points refunded" total.

After you've refunded all your skill points in-game, go to GDStash's "Char Editor" tab, select the right character, hit the reload button (for safety), then go to the "points" column and remove all the points from where it says "Soldier points." If it says "Soldier points" twice, remove both. Now add the same number of points only once to your "Skill Points" and change your "Reclaimed skill points" to 0. Add the gold you spent at the spirit guide.

That should do it - go back in game and pick class etc. again. Kind of clumsy (GDStash is primarily, after all, a stash/items tool) but it works. Or should - your case is special. :steamsalty:

It... unf***ed itself. ??? Somewhere in all the hubbub of loading it into GDStash it sorted itself out. This could still use a bug fix though. Massive p.i.t.a. Thanks for the help all!

I would have just remade the character and kept that one.

Use Grim Deflier program to fix any problems in future:
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9343

The program works with Xpack and mods.
