Rashalga, the Mad Queen.
Uh... So I didn't know about her on the first play through so I didn't know what to expect. Anyway I'm on my merry way in Elite, haven't died once feeling happy and confident I can get through this whole play through without dying but being the dunce I am, I just REALLYYY had to test the waters, so I decided to take on this previously hidden boss. It was exciting and a little daunting taking on this massive spider standing on top of many well textured dead bodies. I stroll confidently into the arena ready to wipe the floor with that spooky spider. Next minute I get one hit. I survived 2 seconds. Talk about a hit to your confidence. Does anyone know why this is? In my build it's virtually impossible to kill me unless 1. I get seriously overwhelmed and am standing in some kind of poison/aether field or 2. They take all my health off with one hit. It was clearly #2, which means that spider must of done over 6k damage. Goodness gracious, are you supposed to take her on at max level or something? Any explanation or words of comfort would be appreciated :)

If you want an even more detailed description: Picture Loki bragging to the hulk about how powerful he is, seconds before he gets slammed into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ human pancake.

Depends on your build but 6K health on elite isn't really high. Mind giving more detail?

My build is high DPS, high regen. I am in no way a tank but I run a Witch Hunter

I then went on to kill the Sentinel in about 5 seconds taking minimal damage so...

Use grimtools.com/calc/ to share your build.
Anyway, MQ is one of the hardest boss in the whole game, and her red revenge aura are really dangerous.

Mad Queen has a red aura when active it retaliates massive damage and drops pretty much most builds near instantly. Don't attack and run away while the red aura is up.

you either need massive stats to soak through the damage when red aura is up, or do the "hit 'n run" tactic
with 3100da, max life leech resist, max all resist +armor and some reduce physical and 15k hp, i still got squashed on ultimate a few times when aura goes up
then i just stopped attacking completely during aura, and zerked during downtime, much easier to facetank then when you aren't killing yourself ;)

hey, did you miss the part where i said i had max lifeleech resist? :steamfacepalm:
overcapped in fact..

and no it's got feck all todo with life leech dmg, that's just about her healing herself, since it's retal dmg, or something, you kill yourself by hitting her duing aura
how do i know this? because like i said, the second i stopped hitting her during aura, i took almost 0 dmg, despite being close up, and the second is shadowstrike her, i almost 1shot myself
life leech resist doesn't help this, i could facetank her easy without torment relic after stopping hitting her with aura up, thus avoiding retal/reflect or whatever it is

and before some wiseguy comes back with "no you need life leech resist, or take massive dmg"
here is me, with 5% lifeleech (no idea from where), facetanked Queen, on my sub optimal geared BM
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1198380234
sure, took several minutes, because had to be a bit careful, and she logically healed herself a bunch, but its NOT the lifeleech doing heavy dmg to you
(pretty sure she does phys, pois and vitality dmg, so just over-cap those 2 reists, -since she reduces your resists by like 50%),
lifeleech resist is purely to avoid her healing herself back up a ton so the fight doesn't take 3-5+minutes...

(ps, does she ever drop that damn 94 claw??, plz RNGesus hear my prayers)

Stinger burst , devouring nova and ground spine are her debuffs againts you so if you can get over maximum, dont sit at 80% resist,as for her buff if you can debuff it when its up with an ability like nullification from the arcanist mastery use it.Most high end bosses debuffs most of the times so even if your sit at 80% resist it wont matter if they debuff you,get info on the resists you need first and overmax it (30%to 50% over) ,use ointments, potion and components to help you out.

ohhhhh I see. If by life leech you mean vitality, mines well over 80% and it didn't help. But if you're saying my DPS Worked against me that makes sense since I don't have a massive amount of health but I have a ♥♥♥♥ load of DPS!

She screams 3 times, after 3rd she immediatly gets a retaliation aura. When she's damaged during it she retaliates with projectiles that hit u for hp%(if i remember right). Aura holds for like 4 sec or so. So either kite her, dispel her aura, dodge projectiles, use something like mirror of ereoctes or something.

as long as you overcap pois+vitality (by about 50 to be completely safe) then she doesn't hurt you all that much besides her regular phys+pierce attack like most mobs
life leech resist helps a ton, in the sense that it slows down her selfheal immensely

she has a couple of nasty attacks that can contribue to "appearing" to 1hit you
first, ofc you need to be crit immune (ultra boss after all),
then if you haven't got resist or mitigation and she hits you "big" right after/around the time she does x%hp dmg attack (many bosses do this kind of attack) + having resist reduct debuff on, then she can squash you in 2-3 hits easy in about 1second

she doesn't seem to have any reflect or retal dmg/skills listed in the old skill sheet, https://grimdawn.gamepedia.com/Rashalga,_the_Mad_Queen
but 100% for sure got easier to facetank her, the second i stopped using special abilities while aura was active and only auto attack/shard of beronath, despite having 0 life leech resist,
the second i started zerking while aura was up i took tons of dmg, despite being able to zerk fine while aura was down
so i'm just going by my own experience facetanking without life leech resist(100% sure this doesn't do dmg to me, as she is still getting healed with my 5% resist but i'm taking no dmg), but observing when/where my dmg spikes occur, and the especially nasty ones are when use stuff like shadowstrike during aura
so despite no reflect/retal stats are listed for her, it sure does seem like she retals/reflects some melee on me., but not doing life leech "dmg", since i'm way over-capped on Vitality despite having only 5% life leech resist
(pretty sure "life leech" isn't a dmg type in itself, thus can't hurt you, merely an "effect", tied to X dmg-type/skill, which then heals monster, sorta like our "ADCTH" but slightly different in calculation+mitigation)

Alright guys, once I've levelled so I don't lose XP i'll give it another shot and let you know how I went

torment relic to help make her heal less (it maxes life leech resist on it's own usually)
and depending on gear/build, i'd probably stick with the good old, "hit 'n run"-tactic when aura is up,
since facetanking her, while possible, does add that inherent risk of getting pummeled extra by her of her own skills/debuffs alone
