Ritualist advice?
Pretty much new to the game and don't know a whole bunch, but I'm building Necromancer + Shaman for some two-handed action. I'd like to build somewhat tanky and rely on the default attack, no pets.

Any tips??? Any good skills I simply must have? Any good AOE skills?

Since you want to rely on the default attack, getting Savagery is a no-brainer.

As for AoE, you can hit multiple enemies using Primal Stike (requires a two-handed weapon).

And Wendigo Totem is a must-have in my book: You'll be somewhat tanky and then some. :AWESOME:

If anyone knows more, just throw it at me.

hmm for a ritualist.. you can also consider vitality damage.. as it is well supported in both masteries.. from shaman. take savagery for auto attack while boosting vitality damage.. you can take devouring swarm for further resist reduction to enemy vit resistances.. from the necro side take spectral wrath to boosts that further as its another source of vitality resist reduction.. harbinger of souls gives tons of vit damage and attack damage converted to health which is a godsend stat for any chars especially melee toons.. necro and shaman combined can dish out loads of vit damage especially if u max out devouring swarm and spectral wrath.. see link for a lvl 60 char and press S to see the skills and devotion :

this is just a mini guide how to build your ritualist from the start.. there are many fun ways to build a ritualist.. you can take primal strike but that would require tons of mana from the start.. and imo savagery is much easier to build in the long run with better survivability overall thanks to its defensive skill modifiers which primal strike greatly lacks.

Vitality/bleed would be the more obvious synergy to exploit there, though not necessarily a requirement.

Build would be rather straight forward: Savagery for weapon damage increase and extra bleed, wps from both masteries to proc of Savagery hits, Wendigo for tanking and extra vitality damage, and health buffs from both masteries. Find a big 2-hander, keep health and resists up, and smack things in the face.

Eventually, though probably not required for a long while, you would probably want to pick up Devouring Swarm to lower the resists on bosses. Probably not needed for most common enemies.

You could go Bone Harvest, you could also add in Vines for AoE and devotion procs.

Hmm you want all the WPS at 25% proc chance (more damage!). As for main attack skill well Bone Harvest is worth thinking about as an alternate to Savagery.

no it's actually not. WPS get the benefit from auto attack replacers. it's a good secondary skill, but main? no. you get savagery's bonus damage AMPPED by any WPS. there's a reason cadence breaks this rule by acting as a wps itself. it'd be too broken having the third hit do 5x damage and then go through a wps.
