What is transmuter?
They modify how the skill works. In case of Blade Arc, it massively increases damage at the cost of adding cooldown.
for example "clean sweep" is the transmuter for blade arc. it changes blade arc from a spammable skill to a cooldown skill, but makes it hit (and crit) much harder.
OK, so assuming I get Clean Sweep also, I could do something like use Blade Arc, switch to Cadence, then use Blade Arc again after the third Cadence hit?
Really? How do you have enough points to max both?
With that said, I've never maxed Blade Arc, not even on a character that uses it as a left-click. It's powerful enough with ~10 points in it (mobs die fast, anyway) and you can easily get there with +skills. Also, Fighting Form scales pretty badly so I leave it at one point. That leaves enough points to focus on Cadence and Deadly Momentum. The same principle applies to Savagery/Primal Strike combo, Savagery/Blade Arc, Cadence/Forcewave, etc.
