Arcanist + Occultist any good?

Making a new character for a run through with a friend but new to casting classes, no idea if it's any good or if I should go pure Arcanist or what.

If you go vitality/ chaos caster it can be quite a tank build.

Ooooh, like the Necromancer thing from TQ? I loved that class. Got any builds for what you're talking about?

I really enjoyed the Arcanist playing with a tank to take the boss hits. I suggest maxing both trees for the spirit (damage).

Arcanist+Occultist (Warlock) is pretty damn good. Whether you do a mix of chaos and aether or go full chaos damage, you'll hit like a truck and have a lot of utility as well. I have a pure chaos warlock and it's one of my more powerful characters, easily being able to tear through ultimate without much difficulty at all.

its stronger as elemental build then the elementalist class :D, pets with elemental damage buffs, elemental resist decrease curse
of course, going chaos is the obvious path
