aether resist
Where can I get it that isn't locked behind really high rep I am all capped on rest of resistances have a build refined so most bosses die in under 10 seconds in elite. Health heals as fast as I take damage but can not for life of me find aether resist that are not remarkably bad like 100% rest worthless stats for 8-15 aether resist. Sitting at zero occasionally I get one shotted with aether because of zero aether resist. And rep for augments that may help seem about a playthrough or 6-12 hours away from farming up.

is there a pattern for a gem or a potion that I could farm up in meantime or even a place to farm that might have higher chance at aether gear.

The Purified Salt component grants a skill that is an Aether Resist Buff. I think it is +20%.

Besides that the Outcast has the +10% Aether Resist armour augments.

Aether soul component also gives aether resistance (14% IIRC). IIRC it can be placed in amulets and medals and requires wrathstone and ectoplasm to craft. Ectoplasm is easily farmed in Spined Cove and wrathstone only needs cracked lodestone for crafting. Don't know if the recipe is common, though.

Also, the aether-themed Cronley's Gang members sometimes have aether resistance in their rare equipment (I remember seeing some in helmets, possibly also shoulders).

Edit: for temporary boost the aether resistance potion (spiritbane ointment, IIRC) can also be useful. IIRC it requires wrathstone to craft.

Devil's Crossing has http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/5767-Gazer-Eye . Even if you don't do lightning/aether damage, it is a relatively easy 30% aether resist from jewelry.

Aether soul http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/2415-Aether-Soul is another 24% plus reduced damage from aetherials.

If you have a spot for the purified salt aura, that brings you another 20% for 74% total now. Which should be way more than enough until you can farm rep for Outcast/Black Legion to get their armor augments.

Look for any "Warding" affix on item drops, which adds aether. It is usually a pathetic amount and not a very good item, but sometimes you can get a belt which adds like 14%, which isn't much of a sacrifice early on.
