So here is what you need to know. Any level X item can drop off any mob of the same level *except* for monster infrequents and crafting mats. However, if the mob in question uses a pistol it isnt going to drop an axe and so on, so if you're looking for an axe you probably want to target humanoids who may use axes... but you may also get it off a giant spider.
There is no - need Y go to X area information to be had. Except in specific situations, and those situations are pretty clear being that the item usually has the mobs name in it or something like that.
Edit: I don't personally make use of the WYSIWYG drops (with the exception of MIs). Most monsters just don't drop epic/legendary items often enough for me to farm specific trash mobs rather than farming a place that drops epic/legendary items more often.
Edit2: The preceding statement makes me sad.
The point I made in mentioning it tho was more to the effect of the other aspect of it, mobs/heroes/bosses that use certain item types being more likely to drop those types (and thus spawn with rarer versions of those types).
By no means is it something to entirely base your farming habits off of tho. At least not when hunting for specific Legs and the like.
Does this also apply to the Set items? A friend of mine has 2 of the maivens sanctuary set pieces and only needs maivens Tome to get it complete. And we were searching Wiki, and all Grim dawn related websites to see where we could find this or the chillsurge Ring for hthe lvl 40´s then.
Farming for top tier gear is going around killing ~lv50+ bosses, doing rogue likes and crucicle..
You rly want a special specific item... make a class that cant use it and you will get several copies of the item you desire :P

Just don't. There is no need to farm in this game unless you play hardcore.
At lvl 85 you can farm crusible for legendaries some of which would be sets. Epic sets are worth close to nothing especially the low lvl ones...
With all due respect that website is ~4 patches outdated (use http://www.grimtools.com/db/) and the information you're seeking is indefinite. If I'm not mistaken you'll find the information needed to understand when/where drops happen earlier in this thread - without requiring some saint to assemble drop+affix tables for every monster in each area in each difficulty at each player level.
If you want to really get a headache look into loot you can look at http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52661
don't know why you resurrected a thread that was dead for about 4 months just to correct someone who may not even play the game or read the forum any more.
2. It doesn't matter that Graceful Dusk and Grimtools are different websites. Graceful Dusk has not been updated for a long time. It was already out of date in June when this topic was made. Unlike Graceful Dusk, Grimtools actually does list which enemies drop the few items with specific drop locations.
http://grimdawn.wikia.com/wiki/Maiven%27s_Hood so no location data is listed for this item.
Things more useful to many levels (like components) might be better researched than level specific lowbie items.
http://grimdawn.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Tallow
http://grimdawn.wikia.com/wiki/Spined_Carapace <-- I actually have two of these without going being at Homestead yet. I think I got them from the Crucible.
You might be better off just running Crucibles up to a certain level to try and have the chests limit their loot tables.
