Some mob types will also drop MI's(Monster Infrequents). These lesser variety tho aren't so "infrequent" and rather more common while certain Hero and Boss types will often have their own true MI's.
Due to the nature of the game in loot distribution it would be very hard/impossible to compile a true location database except in the case of the MI's I mentioned.
That´s the reason for my thread. I tried the official website, this one and many more without getting any information WHERE to farm certain items.
It´s nice that there are so many different Items, but when you created the database, it can´t be so hard to add the place where this item can be found. Like "Act 2 endboss" or "Trollboss on smugglers pass"
If you add the Item to your database, you might as well add where it can be found.
It´s already frustrating enough that you have to farm so much to get the set item you want, but when you don´t even know where to start farming????
Such an undertaking would be more in the realm of a game wiki and let the users provide the horsepower.
As I said in my 1st post, most anything can be found most anywhere. This is true in regards to set items.
I could start a new topic in the steam community for every Item I am searching, but I don´t like doing that, because it would spam the forum too much. However, with a relyable database, that wouldn´t even cross my mind.
In other words, mobs drop the items you see them wearing. Want a big 2hander? Kill mobs that you see using them.
I already outlined in my 2nd post why it is highly unlikely to get such a database. There is nothing else that can change this.
The lesser experienced people won´t have any idea where to find them, because there is just no Information to be found.
Edit: low level sets are not reasonably farm-able with one character. You won't be low level anymore by the time you complete a set and the answer to where they can drop/be found is "anywhere with an area level higher than the item level."
Or, that I have to check their Neck, to see which kind of Necklace they will drop etc.
Well I played quite some time already and when a horde of monsters runs at you, you don´t have time to check all of their Fingers for their rings and their necks for the necklaces you want.
I don´t see how that logic of yours would work for specific items.
I´m more the kind of guy, who searches the things he needs for his character without being a burden for others or relying too much at others. But that only works with a database :P
Sorry if that makes it complicated :)
My current build, I have no idea what kind of loot Im gonna use, im just gonna play / explore and see what happens.
POWBAM's 'WYSIWYG' comment refered to the fact that you can see mobs utilizing certain items in advance if you pay attention. If they drop a legendary mace, they were using the mace.
