Wendigo Totem and Pets

As the title says, I'm wondering if the totem is worth investing in when combined with the Briarthorn. I seem to be generating a bunch of aggro from the totem that I wasn't before. I wonder if this is because I slotted the totem with Tsunami.

Wendigo Totem can be a nice addition to keeping your pets healed up, especially the more points you put in to it. I keep one planted at the Briarthorn's feet on my hybrid lightning/pet Conjurer. At max rank +2 (14/12) it heals for 5% + 620 health, twice each second. That, plus Blood of Dreeg and Mogdrogen's Pact, can keep the pets alive through most anything.

The range on the totem is only 5 meters, and the casting range is painfully short, so you have to keep putting new totems down if your pets move much. Having Tsunami (12 meter range) equipped on it will hit things your pets may not have sufficient aggro on yet.

If you are a Pure Summoner, no, Wendigo Totems aren't worth it. You will die even with the healing, and your character will be too weak to hurt anything. Waste of points.
