Can you explain how to get Soleil witchfire Devotion? Do I need to get a T1 Chaos First?
I have a ranged Arcanist. Somewhere I read Soleil Witchfire is good. I have about 10 pts now. Can I just grab it or do I need to waste points in another Chaos Constellation first? I got the Turtle as my only one right now but that's in the Primal one. I'm level 36 or so. If I have to get another Chaos first, what is a good one?

- devotion can be re-funded and re-spec'ed. So try away.
- keeping devotions is pointless : spend them as you get them. The boosts are oftently very important and holding on to those points is a serious nerf to your toon (10 unspent points ?!?!)
- Constellations have requirement and bonus. For instance, a constellation could require to have 5 points in that "blue" section... And will give you 5 blue points if you complete it. So high end constellations (those on the external rim of the sky) will require you to complete many constellations to have enough points to start them. Top-tier constellations are probably totally out of reach untill the end of "elite" difficulty(around lv65). Exemple : turtle requiered 1 brown point and gave you 3 blue and 2 brown for completing it. You now have access to all constelations that have a requirement of 3 blue or 3 brown or less.
Consteations are 100% UNRELATED to your level...
- Solael's Witchfire is an Occulist skill. It's not a devotion skill/constellation...... !

I think he means aetherfire

Well, if you want Aetherfire, you need to complete the Imp constellation, which requires 1blue. You can do it if you did the Turtle.

He probably means Solael's Witchblade which is in fact a great one to have. However, it depends on the build you're trying to go for since the proc debuffs fire and chaos resistances. If your build isn't focused on dealing those types of damage, it's not a great choice.

That isn't how Devotions work at all peetski. You just need to have the required Affinity cost available to unlock a Constellation. I suggest you do some reading on the system: http://www.grimdawn.com/guide/character/devotion.php

I did mean Soleils Witchblade oops. I did read some stuff but overall but I find it confusing. So I took some points in somthing that springs fire all around me when I shoot and shoots a meteor. The wiki doesn't even show it. I don't know what I'm building yet other than firestrike, this is second play through of normal. I just upgrade weapons as I see better dps, armor and resists as I find them. I seem to be doing fine vs normal mobs but some overtuned bosses are a challenge as I think is intended. Thanks for the tips.

I'm all for creating your own stuff. That's what I do. The result is not always very satisfactory... But at least, it's yours.
But one major tip : concentrate on 1 or 2 damage type. Max 3.
Your damage can be of many type which are all as good (or so).
Choose 1 or 2. And work exclusivly toward those. This is a simple rule but also a super important one. Using ice damage on a demolitionist would PROBABLY be a big waste, per exemple.

Basic exemples :
Nightblade have many skills to boost or use Piercing and Ice damage.
Arcanist have elemental and aetherial (elemental= ice+fire+lihtning)
Occulist have some vitality and chaos dmg skillz.
And so on.

Figure one or two damage type that fit well with both classes you are using and boosts exclusively those. Numbers will go much higher, much faster.

Exemple : arcanist/demitionist can both do fire... Arcanist/nightblade can both do ice...
Personnal exemples : my spellbreaker(nightblade/arcanist) does piercing+ice dmg. My sorcerer(arcanist/demolitionist) does fire+aether dmg. My commando(demolitionist/soldier) used to be fire+physical but I recently changed to all-physical...

Really. This is a primary, basic rule. Concentrate on 1 or 2 damage type.

Work in the same direction with devotion.
