Tips for leveling 70+?
Hey guys. So I'm currently level 70 on the last quest of Elite. I just did a run on the Bastion of Chaos to see if I could grind some levels (supposedly, according to the forums, one run should level you multiple times). Well I can't even complete the run because my character is too squishy. I'm following Klo0ga's GunSorc build. I wasn't getting good experience anyways. So, I put my game to Normal, not even Veteran, just to do a BoC run and see how much xp I would get. I got almost nothing from an entire run.

Can anyone give advice on how to level quicker? Atm it takes forever. Also still have no legendary weapons; in fact I'm still running a level 50 pistol (the other pistol is a 65 though). Thoughts?

finish elite and do quests in ultimate. or do bounties in elite to get the factions to max reputation so you can buy armor augments and the better ring & weapon augments. might also get some item upgrades from them. some of the faction gear is pretty decent actually. not sure about pistols, but they also sell armor for almost all slots.

frankly, those last 15 levels aren't going to change much. if your toon isn't tough enough to run BoC on elite, it probably won't magically be tough enough just from adding 30 more skillpoints and 15 more stat upgrades in physique.

the final milestone is really level 75 - and that's only relevant if you have level 75 items stashed away which you can now use.

I usually land in Ultimate around lv 67-68. But last boss can be hard if your build is not...... Optimal. Might need to open your game to multiplayer and get help for the last boss. Take your time early in ultimate.

Get you hp and all resistance as high as possible.

Raise your reputations to get access to armor augments. Use them to boost your resistances.

Might need to reskill some devotions and skills to get more hp, defense and resistance.

Resistances, resistances.

Resistances.

Resitances, defense and hp.

But mostly hp and resistances.

It's time for Log to be killed. You should have no problem levelling up on Ultimate, provided your build is up to par. If you are too squishy, you should take a look at your devotions, as they can be a game-changer. Been there, done that. ;)

Yep

Character progression pass 70 comes mostly through gear.

xp's come mostly from quests, so for leveling up then you want to do ultimate quests. However if your character is weak, I'd suggest holding off on ultimate for now. Focus on getting armor augments, set up some farming runs for Nemesis bosses to get your mythic relic and useful crafts like Tinker's Ingenuity and Mark of Divinity.

Kiting ultimate Moosi around for 10 minutes is terribly inefficient. It is smarter to blaze through elite content to get the easier gear upgrades, which will set you up with a stronger character to start farming ultimate.

Thanks for general advice guys. Seems I need to take a better look at faction gear and getting their rep up. @matthew, what are Nemesis bosses? Seems I have some research to do.

Just complete the campaign. There's nothing fancy you have to do to level. After campaign start farming something. 85 is easy to get.

Nemesis bosses are "super bosses" of each enemy faction. You unlock them by reaching max negative reputation with them. Each game creation can spawn 1 Nemesis per faction in a semi-random location (Google can help you find their potential spawn locations).

They are good to farm for:

--Tonic of Clarity. A potion which instantly resets all your devotion points for a full respec. Can be transferred to other characters.

--Warrants. A consumable which doubles the rate you gain negative reputation. Can be transferred to other characters. Good for getting alt characters maxed out quickly.

--High chance to get crafting recipes (not the hat ones though). Good for getting useful mythic relic recipes quickly. Plus some others.

They have high health and damage so on elite they are not bad, but on ultimate they will insta-slaughter your character if he isn't geared up. So it is better to farm them on elite if you don't have the gear.

They are not the best way to get legendary gear in general, but I find them useful to work into farming runs early on, since a lot of their drops are also useful for setting up additional characters.

Fabius (cronley), Zantarian (death vigil) and Iron Maiden (kymon) have a high change but not guaranteed. Valdaraan (aetherial), Mooislauke (undead) and Bennjahr (cthon) have a guaranteed recipe drop. That drop includes all recipes up to their level at the time, so by late elite should be pretty much all of them, including the legendaries. Although it only picks twice, if those picks are stuff you already have they drop nothing.
