I am not saying it needs to be super fast, but 100+ hours to reach max level is pure insanity.
Yeah, you have. D3 has far less levels that you have to obtain as well. 70 as opposed to GD's 85 (soon to be 100 when the expansion drops). You seem to be forgetting that. Getting to lvl 70 in GD can be done in 20 hours. That's about the same amount of time as it takes in D3 to get to 70. Grim Dawn just has more than D3, that's all. All end game gear in Grim Dawn can be worn at lvl 75 (also soon to change in the expansion, obviously). Grim Dawn basically has breakpoint levels, just like D2 had. Max level isn't really necessary.
Lol, you're a funny guy. I like you.
Mainly just grinding mobs over and over and over and over for reputation while watching the xp bar sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly increase.. ugh...
For experience, though - don't grind. Go do things. Make a run that involves some variety and has a chance to drop MIs you're looking for plus gives you access to troves.
If you can kill any Nemesis, hunt the areas they frequent.
Use a movement skill (get Chaos Strike from a Riftstone if nothing else) to cut out some run time and make sure you have max (135%) move speed.
Repeating the same short run over and over might be more optimal with respect to time but if you're getting bored you'll play less and be distracted more easily.
The grind has always been part of these types of games. If you don't like leveling it might not be the game for you.
I just do all the quests+sidequests and quickly clear the maps. Nothing special. More important thing is how well your build is optimized to do that quickly, and how well you know maps/quest locations etc.
I don't really get this d3 comparison thing, i have about 2k hours in d3 but i don't play it anymore and i don't miss anything about d3 in gd.
