A question to fellow farmer veterans

We all know that RNG is RNG but I cannot help but wonder if anyone of you seem to be getting the same epic and legendary items time and time again. Here are some of the items/sets I'm being "blessed" with on a regular basis:

- Dawnguard set (with the exception of CotL, which I've gotten only twice/thrice)
- Myrmidon Armour
- Unholy Covenant
- Voidwalker Footpads
- Mogdrogen's Tranquility
- The Unseeing Eye
- Empowered Immaterial Edge
- Bloodreaper's Carnage
- Empowered Embergrip Handguards
- Empowered Soil Trousers
- Calidor's Regalia
- Empowered Maleficus
- Empowered Dreadnought Footpads
- Keeper of the Flame

I think I read that some items are supposed to be more common than others - though I admit, once I found out there wasn't a way to improve your odds of good drops, I quit following the discussion.

That list definitely looks familiar to me. Maybe a few differences.

it makes one wonder if the proper way to farm this game is by first time drops with new characters.

Don't know bout those purple items, but all the blue ones are very common indeed.

I think its partially cause once you hit max level only certain blues can feasibly drop from the empowered versions and the ones (like covenant) which are already high level.

Weirder imo is the common legendaries, I cant tell you how many death omens, stonefist rebukes and threads of mortality i found.

Thanks, RodHull. Oddly enough, I don't think I have ever come across neither thread of mortality or death omen, lol. But I've gotten two deathmark decapitators recently and another bloodsong. ;)

430 hours, 1 stonefist rebuke, and what is thread of mortality? I believe its rng.

Meanwhile, I have three or so stonefist rebukes and I'm still using the first one on my main (phys/bleed warder). Random be thy game... ;)

I guess i've gotten all the legendary boots&gloves like 10 times each, but helmets, shoulders...

I'm not quite sure but i think i completed my first set today, which is invoker. Also just missing 1 part from infernal knight, and 1 from ultos. :/ My stash/characters are a mess tho, so i wouldn't wonder if i happened to have full warborn set too lol.

I have a HORRIBLE time finding shoulders... so many sets missing shoulders...

Yeah, me too. Helmets can be crafted, that's probably why they're super rare. But shoulders are in a league of their own, lol. I also seem to get chest pieces more than anything else (Bloodrager and Deathmark sets).

I'm down to the point of needing only a few more recipes to have all of them for important end-game gear... but I haven't seen any drop in quite a lot of nemesis kills and a whole lot of trove openings. I seem to get them frequently in the crucible but that's either boring as hell or really frustrating, depending on the difficulty & wave I play at.

Yep. I don't pay the closest attention to what I put in IA, but sometimes when I go look over what I've accumulated, there is a very clear trend. 8+ copies of every boot and glove, several copies of pants, hardly any shoulders.

Pretty sure it is by design. The key set items are often chest, shoulder, hat, and amulet. All of which are the most difficult to find. i.e., the carrot on the end of the stick.

I have s***ty luck finding chest armour, like I have legendaries on most toons in all slots and two whole stash tabs of sparesm god knows how many dismantled and in that just 4 chest pieces 2 of which arent even very good. Death omens at one point I had 5 had 3 threads of mortality and about 9 stonefist rebukes
