Grim Dawn
XP drain sucks
Is there any way to turn it off? Because I swear to God I'm losing just as much as I'm gaining.

Yes, you turn it off by NOT DYING.

I hope I was useful
Exp drain? What is that? When i die my character stays dead.
xp draining, WTF? all I know when im dead, im dead theres no coming back from the grave.
You get it back if you click on your grave. Of course if you die while attempting to get back to your corpse it is gone.

Check nexus mods...maybe something there.
No offense but if you're dying that much you shouldn't be wherever you are, or you need to take a look at resists.
Honestly, I'd like to see a bigger penalty. The amount of exp isn't really a lot. It'd be nice to see more damage done like, you also lose 10% of your foil (but it's gone for good). Dying right now isn't even a slap on the wrist unless you're in a room through a skeleton key.
Go back. Play earlier areas. Figure out why you were getting killed too often. Fix it. Try again. The game offers a lot of flexibility in build and gear. The only situation where you're really screwed is if you invest lots of points in cunning or spirit - but even then there's nothing stopping you from editing your character.
I'll look for a mod, then. I don't care enough about the game to spend ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ages fiddling around with gear and builds any more than I have to.
You know, I think the problem might be that I've managed to get to Homestead on elite mode at level 51. Although I've mostly managed that because of the xp drain, so I dunno.

Fiddling around with gear and builds is the whole point of playing an arpg. Plz tell me you're not farming steam achievements.
I liked the setting and some of the skills are cool, I just have a bit of a short attention span I guess.

Precisely.

As an achievement-whöre, I see nothing wrong with doing that. Either way, it's probably not the case here.

Well if you die often, then you have to fiddle some more. There's also the option to create a new char and learn from your mistakes. It's highly unlikely that using a mod to remove this "xp drain" would make you survive more often.

It would let me level faster, which would certainly help . . .

Honestly, I seem to have pretty bad luck with gear. Or maybe I just don't understand how gear works in this game, I dunno, but I wind up with level-20 gear that's better than level-50 gear.

I lawled a lil there. That explains literally everything about your problem. Everything.

Thought you were gunna rush on thru all gung-ho didn't ya? Thought wrong. By the end of Normal/Vet resistances start becoming more important. Once you go into Elite they literally are more important and you need to build up your resists and compensate for the switch to Elite as well. It sounds like you completely ignored that and attempted smashing your guy thru it like a bunch of lemmings perpetually dropping off a cliff.

It's a f@cking miracle you even made it past Cronley doing that.

Bet that was fun. I'd love to hear what your death counter is at currently.

=/

And then there is also the matter of this..

If you don't care then why are you even bothering? You already beat the game on Normal technically. You've seen the sights, drank the local wine. The rest of the game is usually for people who do care and enjoy such things.

If you can't hack it as it is now, you're not gunna suddenly become all knowing and able to hack it later unless you actually do start caring somewhat.

There's tools you can use to cheat yourself if you like but honestly, I'm just going to let you figure out how to find 'em yourself. If you even can.

Yeah, I might just say the hell with it. Unless there are different quests in the different ranks or something it's gotten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dull.
