If I hurt your feelings. Sorry. Kinda. Maybe. Sorta.
Exclude the appropriate folders in your AV and learn about false positives. And Steam. Learn about the implications and why you won't be finding any real viruses or trojans on this platform.

may want to just uninstall it as its usless for pretty much anything and only protects you if you have no common sense.
And Steam does their own virus scan before they allow any uploaded files/games to the market, so AV really is completely useless with Steam. Nobody here has the AV capabilities that Steam does.
If there was a dev that wanted to completely screw you, they could, but it would be a no name dev with 0 acountability assuming it got passed valve and onto steam in the first place.
A virus scanner at that point is not going to detect the attack anyway, and if lets say it was a 3 month delay, like old ransom ware that gave you 90 shutdowns before activeateing it could slip through cracks if it went un noticed.
Not only is it free, it usually scores much better than the paid versions of Norton.
again, just use nothing and have some common sense, doesn an mp3 end in .exe?
does this website that looks like its from the 90's really have 1000$ waiting for me?
Did this game I got from steam, that has real production value, really have a virus on it?
oh, and I should probably say this, avast has crippled my computer on more then one occasion, granted this was xp so somehwere along the lines of 9 or 10 years ago, but no anti virus is your friend.
