Skeleton Key doesn't work
I've just died in Entropy, made a new Skeleton Key, it is in my inventory. Can't open Bastion Gates again. WTF?

Once you die in a game session (in a Rogue-like dungeon) you cannot enter again during that game session.

Exit to menu. Enter game. Now you can open the door.

Yeah, I made that, but it is a bit stupid. They could at least just reset those dungeons without quitting...

If/when you do another playthrough, READ what the toon that gives you the key/recipe tells you next time. You woulda known if you had.
Nothing tends to get reset unless you exit and re-enter your particular game, and I like it just the way it is. The dungeons are meant to be a challenge, and part of that challenge could even include the run there in the first place.

Though for areas well below your level (the skeleton dungeon comes to mind, later in the game) to run through even to get to the dungeon, I admit it can be a bit tedious.

Still, if you're dying too many times you probably aren't going to have any keys left anyway. They take a lot of stuff to craft that only drops slowly over time after all. Though maybe on higher difficulties it isn't so tough.

Not the way the game works unfortunately. To reset the game spawns you need to exit and reenter. You may have noticed this. Due to the way the rogue like dungeons work (when you die they remain closed for the session, intentionally) this is unavoidable.
