Mods?
Hello, anyone know if there are mods for the PC version of this game?

No not yet really. Someone should made a program/there should be programs found to mod the models & stuff in it. I've been thinking about modding NiGHTS Into Dreams too within the Sonic models. :U

I'd like to see someone create a mod to iron out the few remaining kinks Sega hasn't bothered to fix themselves.

  • NiGHTS moves like a slug through the overhead portion of Splash Garden and Mystic Forest.
  • The hit boxes on things like dash panels and the nightopian who floats above the NiGHTS palace with the bonus are pretty small.
  • The rail ride in Stick Canyon doesn't control as it should.
  • Dashing into the bouncy panels on Mare 3 of Soft Museum can send you way off course.
  • Boss selection in the options menu isn't present. Would be nice to have considering some bosses are very difficult to 2.0 now since they act quite a bit differently than they did on than they did on the Saturn.
  • The chimes you hear when passing through the rings aren't right. They max out too soon.
  • Level music continues to play up until the boss battles begin. On the Saturn, it stopped when NiGHTS was teleported out of the palace. All you could hear was some eerie ambient noise.

I'm sure I forgot some stuff, but that pretty much covers the most annoying differences.

Oh yeah, the water physics in Splash Garden are pretty screwy. Doesn't seem to matter how you enter the water bubbles, NiGHTS probably isn't going to go in a straight line like he should.

Yeah, there is more. On this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTqxDugHe_s this guy explain the other differences, like the snowflakes causing flashes of light as it touches the ground on christmas nights

hearing the original Christmas NiGHTS intro was truly painful. I'm so sorry for the people who had to sit through that entire thing

This is a pretty ancient thread. But this port could really use a strong modding community. In particular, the analog stick problem really needs to be fixed. Sega actually fixed it for the Xbox 360/PS3 ports but never managed to get around to it with this one.

If Sonic Adventure DX has a strong modding community with mods such as Better SADX, then it should be possible for NiGHTS as well.

Do you know if any of these were fixed during updates since then?

You can select bosses directly in-game, just hover over the level and push x on your controller.
