The remastered version has better graphics and runss smoother and faster

pretty much, besides the fact that you can do events in the remastered version.

The most notable change is the wind. It's way-way too strong and makes it impossible to get some link chains. Also the positioning or direction of some of the dash pads throws you in a weird direction. Again, making it harder or impossible to complete some link chains. The trees also don't give you blue chips anymore before a level starts.

The control issues have been fixed since the ps2 game. Again, if you want more info check out nidscores.com
