but try messing around with the controls in the options menu or running the game as administrator just in case you havent already? lol thats all I got ^^
I launched the in-game config again, and went into the keyboard settings and changed them to my preferences, and when I launch the game, I still can't control the game with the keyboard. I don't know what the problem is.
Use a kemapper program like JoyToKey to get gamepad support and maybe also turn off any Steam gamepad support in Setting->Controller, because for my generic gamepad, any such option, including "Generic gamepad support" messes up all my buttons and axes.
There is a setup app that you can access by right clicking in your library tab on the game and selecting configure game, but the app does not work for me at all; cannot set fullscreen or resolution (manually setting in the config files is also ignored [?]). Mapping keyboard keys also fails, the setup app fails to write settings. But use it to see the predefined key mappings.
See newer posts regarding gamepad issues and config setup if you want more elaborate info from me.
Use Borderless Gaming _FORK_ made by mdbell - there are other forks as well, check them out: https://github.com/mdbell/Borderless-Gaming
I also modified the config for the game to give me 1024x600, so I have widescreen resolution. The configs are in the Steam dir: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\NiGHTS Into Dreams\Config
So what your supposed to do is open it your library and it'll give you to start the game or go to "Game Configuration" and selecting "Game Configuration"you can fix your problem from there
Also, if you have gamepad support enabled in Steam (Xbox/generic/other gamepad support), you can configure Steam to emulate different input from your gamepad. During gameplay, press Shift+Tab to open the Steam overlay and select controller configuration. There you need to assign whatever specific emulation to your gamepad axes and buttons.
So you have two options:
1) turn off all gamepad support in Steam, because sometimes that interferes not only with other, non-Steam games, but also Steam games themselves. Thant's why I exit Steam when I play GOG games, or other games,
2) your other option is to use the Steam gamepad support and emulate input with the Steam controller configuration tool - during gameplay. Make sure to turn on the right gamepad support in Steam Settings, to reflect what you use; Xbox, generic, Switch or whatever is available what Steam detects and uses for your hardware. For example, many generic gamepads are treated as Xbox gamepads, and with Xbox support, I can use the Steam input emulation feature.
