Difficulty
To be honest, I expected this game to be a little more difficult than it ended up being. Don't get me wrong this game is great and I would still recommend it to anybody that is asking about it, but did anyone else find it to be easier than expected?

You can't really say it's easy if you haven't played all the content (100%), which I doubt you have in only 5.4 hours playtime.

I have the red gun, so I assume I'm pretty far. But you are correct at pointing out my quickness to judge. I wont totally label it as "easy" until I finish.

Considering finding all the purple hideouts; i dont know, i didnt really get stuck either. I only thought the purple cubes would unlock the ending and i went rampage to look for those, silly me. :D

Otherwise about the puzzles, they are very creative and the difficulty is that you need to teach urself what works and what not. For me it was about finding out the tricks, learning to move around the map properly and inbetween little challanges.

and at last, the game has for its rather small map a fitting gametime. i like it, and i dont wanna get frustrated^^

Really mostly depends on how your brain works. If you've got the mindset to quickly work through the mind trickery, it can come off as fairly easy. But if you can't wrap your head around what the game is doing to you, then it could be rather hard.

Somewhat. But to be fair, it was one heck of an experience.

It's not bad for what it is - the lateral thinking is really what kicks it off and determines how fast you are. And if you get stuck admiring the scenery. :)

Yeah, it's a bit easy than I expected, don't just check my hours, I left it running when I sleep and go out so I don't have to reset with Esc key. Up until I get the yellow gun and figure out that map room do indicate possible exits and stuff. My actual play time might be around 7~8 hours, most of this is after getting the blue gun and before yellow gun, and searching for those pink cube and hidden areas to complete my wall.( I got around 7~8 pink cube before I hit end game. and are checking guide for those hard to get ones. )

I guess once you figure out that it portal you to different part of the level with condition( like facing, location) even with blue gun( if you manage to collect a lot cubes ) you can map out a lot rooms and put hint cubes all over the place and see them disappear and reappear when you move around.

But I'd assume most people that have to check guide to finish portal would need around at least 10~15 hours to get through, and around 10 hours to 100% for people liked to play puzzle games.

All the time estimates for how long it takes to beat are on HLTB (even though there are only a few submissions for some sections):

To me the fact that it wasn't really that hard was some of the beauty of it. Many games that try to defy conventional logic don't provide alternative logic, they just become very random. Here you need to spend some time learning how the game world works, but then you can exploit it rather than letting it trick you.

Though I did find it a bit disappointing (too strong a word, but you get my drift) that in the late game it seemed like many puzzles could be solved with a few spamable tricks. On a replay I'm going to try and solve as much as I can with each device before moving up. Maybe that will help some.

I think I was halfway before I stopped playing for a little bit. I picked it up again and somehow my save dissapered. I was a little upset and now I can't remember how I got to the point where I was at. Up to where I got, it wasn't terribly hard. You just had to think differently because a lot of puzzles aren't what you'd traditionally expect a puzzle would be. Everytime I completed a puzzle, I was left with a feeling of satisfaction. Isn't that why we play games in the first place?

I found it to be easier than I initially thought it was once I discovered you could just use the same solutions on just about every puzzle (i.e. jumping at things makes them disappear, hoarding blocks is always a good idea and usually DESTROYS any door or laser-based puzzle), and learning how the map works helps too...still haven't beaten it yet though xD

this is a game that makes you think outside the box...it's tough to judge the difficulty of it on a person-to-person basis...i find that this game has it's fair share of both difficult and easy moments and puzzles
