Otherwise about the puzzles, they are very creative and the difficulty is that you need to teach urself what works and what not. For me it was about finding out the tricks, learning to move around the map properly and inbetween little challanges.
and at last, the game has for its rather small map a fitting gametime. i like it, and i dont wanna get frustrated^^
I guess once you figure out that it portal you to different part of the level with condition( like facing, location) even with blue gun( if you manage to collect a lot cubes ) you can map out a lot rooms and put hint cubes all over the place and see them disappear and reappear when you move around.
But I'd assume most people that have to check guide to finish portal would need around at least 10~15 hours to get through, and around 10 hours to 100% for people liked to play puzzle games.

Though I did find it a bit disappointing (too strong a word, but you get my drift) that in the late game it seemed like many puzzles could be solved with a few spamable tricks. On a replay I'm going to try and solve as much as I can with each device before moving up. Maybe that will help some.
