No button mapping or controller support? Please consider this...
The fact that theres no controller support or even key mapping options makes it completely unplayable for me due to a slight paralysis of my left hand. Wish I would have known that before I bought it. Please consider adding at least the option to map the keys for those of us who cant use standard key layouts due to physical limitations.

Its a shame, looks like a beautiful game.

yeah how bout you shouldn't have to use joy2key or anything for a game that was 20 bucks... i buy 5 dollar games that have controller support thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic....NEXT!

Even if I completely agree on a point that not having remappable keys in a modern game is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and lazyassness of the developer, this game is well wrth the effort of using an external program for key remapping )

thats not an effort i make... you know i have windows and a 360 controller... like the work pretty much does itself... like i said i pay 5 bucks for games that have full controller support... Either the game is better with a controller or a mouse... so either this game is better with mouse than controller i'll consider buying it.. If its meant to be played with a controller WHY DO I NEED JOY2KEY?

You will need to manually edit the config file. \Antichamber\UDKGame\Config\DefaultInput.ini
Scroll down to the Antichamber Keyboard Bindings around line 260. You can either change the keyboard keys or copy the commands to the joystick bindings.

Came to say DarkNexus' solution works!
raixel 13 SEP 2013 a las 19:01
Yeah, I got it to work too. Thanks! Only issue is for some reason the axis of the left stick is reversed. Like pressing forward moves the character back. Tried swapping them in the config, didnt work. Fortunatly its still playable. Just weird.

Thing I dont understand is if the option to bind keys is in the config, why not add it to the game? I read a post about the controller function not being perfect, but except for the reverse issue which I think is a function of my controller. it works fine. At least a hell of a lot better than trying to play an unmappable game with physical limitations that make it impossible to use wsad and space.

Awesome game, totally worth the slight hassle!

Part of playing this game is discovering what can and cannot be done at any point in time. To those of you complaining about having to use a 3rd party program to remap keys, How exactly would the developers go about letting your change them without revealing what the keys do before you get those abilities?

This is one of those rare instances that the developer made a choice for us, instead of being lazy. It is worth the slight extra hassle to remap those keys as you discover new abilities.

How about allowing to remap a newly discovered ability the moment it is discovered?

As a left-handed player, I have zero tolerance for games that don't allow me to remap keys.

This is similar to what Axiom Verge did. The undiscovered abilities show as "???" in the controls menu until you get them while playing.

I've tried this (editing DefaultInput.ini) and mapping the keys (arrows) to movement has no effect - nothing happens, WASD does (which I cannot use). Does the game really not have the option to map keys or am I missing something really basic?

You'll want to edit UDKInput.ini, not DefaultInput.ini. Under the "[Engine.PlayerInput]" section, look for:
Bindings=(Name="W",Command="GBA_MoveForward",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Bindings=(Name="S",Command="GBA_Backward",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Bindings=(Name="A",Command="GBA_StrafeLeft",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Bindings=(Name="D",Command="GBA_StrafeRight",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
And change it to:
Bindings=(Name="Up",Command="GBA_MoveForward",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Bindings=(Name="Down",Command="GBA_Backward",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Bindings=(Name="Left",Command="GBA_StrafeLeft",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Bindings=(Name="Right",Command="GBA_StrafeRight",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
You might also want to set the file as read-only after saving it; the game likes to reset some of the config files to the defaults sometimes.
